We’re heading back to Carrow Road! 💛💚

We are thrilled to announce that Norwich High School for Girls is once again providing in stadium sponsorship for Norwich City Women FC for their upcoming match against Cambridge United in April!

After an incredible 4-0 win in September, we can’t wait to see the team back at Carrow Road. One lucky student will also get the chance to be a matchday mascot and walk out with the team!

A massive well done to our Year 5 ambassadors who spent an incredible day at London’s Royal Institution at the GDST Science Day! 🧬

It was a total deep dive into all things STEM. The girls got stuck into engineering challenges, met some amazing female scientists to talk careers and even extracted their own DNA to take home in a keepsake.

Between the history quizzes and a very loud (and very messy!) science finale, they’ve come back to school more excited about science than ever. 🧪✨

What a week we had last week celebrating British Science Week across the whole school 🚀

Our Science Department organised a fantastic range of events across both Prep and Senior Schools. Highlights from the end of the week included a fascinating squid dissection, where students explored marine biology up close, and our high-energy ‘Air Olympics’ out on the Big Pitch.

Year 4 took to the stage for their production of 'Mission Implausible' earlier this week - a tale of goodies and baddies, with spies, scientists and even a Prime Minister.

When the brilliant Professor Sandy Beach was snatched by the dastardly Dr Yes, we thought all hope was lost, especially since our only hope was the least capable agents MI5 has to offer!

Well done to the whole cast and crew for such a fantastic performance! From the sharp comedic timing to the incredible songs, it was a mission we won’t soon forget.

Happy !

History isn’t just found in textbooks, it’s alive in the stories of the girls who walked the halls of Norwich High School for Girls before us. From tales of Victorian-era mischief to witnessing pivotal global moments, our archive captures the truly maverick spirit of Norwich High.

We caught up with our school archivist, Tom Greenwood, to discuss how he preserves these tangible pieces of our identity and why our history is far more than just old ledgers.

Last week we celebrated World Book Day, and it got us thinking about the incredible literary legacy at Norwich High School for Girls.

From beloved children’s classics like Jane Hissey’s Old Bear to the gripping tension of modern-day thrillers, our alumnae have been shaping the world of literature for decades.

We are so proud to see our former students turning their Norwich High spirit into powerful storytelling across so many different genres. Here is just a snapshot of some of our amazing alumnae authors, many of whom we have been fortunate enough to welcome back to school for visits, talks and book signings.

We know our community is full of even more hidden literary gems, and we would love to keep our records growing. If you know of another Norwich High alumna who has published a book please let us know in the comments or tag them below 📚️

We're !

Teacher of Mathematics
Required from September 2026

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and inspiring Teacher of Mathematics (0.6 to full time) to take on this role within our successful Mathematics department. Mathematics is a popular subject and each year we have a healthy cohort of A-level mathematicians with some also doing Further Mathematics. The ability to teach Further Mathematics and/or some Computer Science would be advantageous.

Last week, we welcomed a very special visitor to Norwich High: Madeleine Jevons, the great-niece of alumna Frances Bettelheim. Madeleine, a member of the acclaimed Penny Quartet, reached out to us during her work trip to visit the school where her great-aunt’s journey in England began.

Frances’s story is one of remarkable resilience. At just 12 years old, she escaped Nazi-occupied Austria via the Kindertransport, becoming one of four girls offered a place at our school. Despite arriving with no English, Frances excelled, eventually studying at Cambridge and forging a pioneering path at Shell. Her career took her as far as Venezuela, where she rose to become one of the company’s highest-ranking women.

During her visit, Madeleine met with our archivist, Tom Greenwood, to explore records and photographs from Frances’s school days. It was a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the legacy of a woman who remained a lifelong friend to the school, even generously donating to our school library.
