Planning family days out this summer?

If your child has a disability, condition or additional need that isn't immediately visible, the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower scheme may be worth knowing about.

The Sunflower lanyard, wristband or badge is a simple way to let staff know that you or your child may need a little more time, understanding, patience or support.

Many families find it helpful when visiting places such as:
🌻 Airports
🌻 Train stations
🌻 Shopping centres
🌻 Attractions and leisure venues
🌻 Museums
🌻 Hospitals

For some families, it can help reduce the need to repeatedly explain their child's needs and make it easier to start conversations when extra support may be helpful.

The scheme is completely voluntary, and not every organisation takes part, so it's a good idea to check before you travel.
