🎻 Calling young orchestral musicians!

The National Youth Orchestra is inviting musicians aged 12–19 to take part in a free Side by Side Rehearsal at Snape Maltings this August.

Participants will have the chance to rehearse alongside musicians from the National Youth Orchestra and experience the excitement of playing in a large ensemble with other young musicians.

As part of this year's Summer Reading Challenge, Read to the Beat, we're teaming up with Norfolk Library and Information Service and The Reading Agency o bring live music to The Forum, Norwich.

We're looking for performers aged 5+ to take to the stage at the Norfolk & Norwich Millennium Library. Whether you're a solo musician, part of a duo or in a group of up to 10 performers, we'd love to hear from you.

🎡 Applications are now open for Advanced Young Musicians (AYM)!

Formerly Aldeburgh Young Musicians, AYM is Britten Pears Arts' advanced training programme for talented young musicians across Suffolk and East Anglia. Based at Snape Maltings, the programme offers weekly Saturday sessions from September 2026, alongside students' existing lessons, ensembles and school commitments.

Open to Year 10+ students of all instruments, voices and musical styles, AYM helps young people develop their musicianship, creativity, confidence and performance skills.

🎢 Applications are now open for Britten Pears Arts' Friday Afternoons Big Sing LIVE 2026!

Taking place at Snape Maltings on Friday 13 November, this inspiring event brings together children and teachers from across Norfolk and Suffolk to form a huge massed choir for a day of music-making and celebration.

Singing a selection of songs from the Friday Afternoons Song Bank, participants will fill the Concert Hall with hundreds of young voices for an unforgettable shared musical experience.

Are you a musician aged 12-19 who plays an orchestral instrument at Grade 4 level or above? This is your chance to experience the excitement of playing in a full orchestra alongside musicians from The National Youth Orchestra.

Take part in a Side by Side Rehearsal led by an NYO conductor, meet other young musicians, and explore exciting repertoire together before a sharing performance for friends and family at 5.30pm.
