We’re pleased to offer a programme of continuing professional development for teachers, education settings, partners and music educators working with young people across Norfolk & Suffolk.

Our CPD programme includes practical training, networking and opportunities to share ideas and best practice, with sessions covering areas including Charanga, classroom music, BTEC Music Practice, singing, composition and music education updates.

CPD is free for schools signed up to a Hub Subscription Package and for Norfolk & Suffolk Music Hub partners. Non-subscribers can also book for £75 per delegate, per session.

🎨 An opportunity for artists and creative practitioners across the region from Norfolk & Norwich Festival:

Digging in the Mud with Edmund Davies invites artists to explore the ancient history of clay at Flag Fen Archaeology Park, with local ceramic artist Edmund Davies.

Discover the Bronze Age landscape, explore clay’s role in art, everyday life and ritual, and get hands-on with ancient techniques. The session is designed to inspire, build skills and create opportunities to connect with other regional artists in a brilliant setting.

🎟 £10, with travel and ticket bursaries available if required

Norfolk Music Service offers a range of ensembles for young musicians at different stages, from beginners through to more experienced players.

Playing in an ensemble is a brilliant way to build confidence, develop musical skills and make friends, while putting what you learn in lessons into practice.

Young musicians can join as many included ensembles as they like for one termly membership fee, and trial sessions are available if you’d like to come along before signing up.

🎤 Young singers in Ipswich! Suffolk Soul Singers Youth is welcoming young people aged 8–17 to join its inclusive youth choir, with free taster sessions available for anyone who’d like to give it a try.

There are no auditions and no previous singing experience is needed. Sessions are all about singing, creating and having fun together, with young people helping to choose the music they perform.

🎶 Learn songs and harmonies by ear
✍️ Explore songwriting and creativity
🎤 Perform in concerts and record original songs
💙 Build confidence and make new friends

📅 Thursdays during term time, 5–6pm

🎶 Musical Mondays are back for 2026/27!

We’re delighted to be partnering with Live Music Now again this academic year, bringing a brilliant programme of live online performances straight into classrooms across Norfolk & Suffolk.

There are two series to choose from:

🎵 Mainstream Musical Mondays
Six performances across the year, taking place from 1.15–2pm.

🎵 Special Schools Musical Mondays
Three performances across the year, taking place from 2–2.45pm.

Each concert is streamed live via Zoom, giving pupils the chance to discover different musicians, instruments, genres and musical traditions without leaving the classroom.

Can’t join live? Registered schools will also receive access to the recording for 28 days after each performance. 🙌

CREATIVE LEADERS | Artist Network Events

Norfolk & Norwich Festival's Artist Network brings artists together through a programme of online and in-person events across East Anglia.

With inspiring speakers, creative workshops and unique locations, the events offer opportunities to learn, share practice, develop skills and connect with peers.

Over the next six months the programme includes insider insight into building your creative brand, hands-on ceramics, folklore, shadow puppetry, and more.

Our final Read to the Beat session of the summer is tomorrow! 🎶📚

Read to the Beat is the theme of this year’s Summer Reading Challenge, celebrating the connection between stories, creativity and music. As part of the programme, we’ve been giving young musicians the chance to perform live at Norfolk and Norwich Millennium Library throughout the summer holidays.

Tomorrow is the last chance to come along and hear some of those young musicians perform in a friendly, informal setting.

No need to book to watch, just drop in, enjoy some live music and support our young musicians! 💛
