𝗟𝗼𝘀𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗮 𝗳𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗱

We are sad to report that on Friday, 12 September, 2025, the former Sales Director for LJ Create, Stan Jones passed away in Devon. Stan had celebrated his 82nd birthday in June this year.

Joining the company in 1983, after 22 years in the R.A.F, Stan began as a UK regional sales manager. Despite initially lacking confidence in his ability to perform a sales role he quickly became very talented in the presentation and communication skills that the job demanded. Nobody in the sales team could claim more success than Stan in the sales of the LJ communications range of products and the Digiac 3000 electronics training system. In a number of colleges and universities these products are still in use today.

After 2 to 3 years working the south-west of England and south-wales, Stan relocated to the head office in Norwich to take the role of UK Sales Manager.

It wasn’t long before Stan was travelling around the world successfully promoting LJ Create products. He enjoyed considerable success in both the Middle East and the Far East. In 1998 Stan joined the Board of LJ as Sales Director.

Before Stan retired in 2010, he spent 2 years promoting our products in the USA while based in our office close to Atlanta, Georgia.

Stan was a more than competent golfer and was a member for many years at Costessey Park Golf Club in Norwich. Such was his love of the game that it was hard to get Stan to leave the course before his round was complete. Playing after the working day, I recall many occasions when we had to use a torch to find our ball on the final holes. An amusing incident occurred when we played in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. We watched as a monkey jumped down from a tree and stole Stan’s ball from the green. It seemed to amuse me more than Stan as I claimed that I obviously won the hole since he was unable to complete the hole with the ball that he began with – I’m sure that I lost the argument!

Stan spent much of his 15 years in retirement based in Devon. Rest in peace dear friend and thank you for your tremendous contribution to our Company.
