With full hearts, we’re sharing that Wheatfen Forest School CIC will be closing at the end of June 2026.

This decision has not been made lightly, and it comes with deep gratitude for everyone who has been part of this journey. Forest School has always been more than time spent outdoors; it has been a community built on curiosity, creativity, resilience, mud, shared laughter and quiet moments beneath the trees.

To our funders, thank you for believing in the transformative power of nature-based learning and for making these experiences possible. To our participants and families, it has been a privilege to witness growing confidence, new friendships, courage and connection flourish in the woodland spaces we shared. To our volunteers and staff, your dedication, compassion and steady presence in all seasons created nurturing environments where people could truly thrive.

Every partner, supporter and friend who has walked alongside us, thank you for helping to shape something meaningful and lasting. While this chapter closes, the skills learned, the confidence built, the relationships formed and the love of nature nurtured will continue to ripple outward, a lasting positive effect that reaches far beyond our final session.

Calling all rewilding fans! This coming Thursday South Yare Wildlife Group are hosting an event about Beavers in Poringland.

Bringing Beavers back to Norfolk!

SYWG will be joined on Wednesday 12th November by Ursula Juta, senior project officer and ecologist at Norfolk Rivers Trust for a talk covering the life history and ecology of the Eurasian beaver and the benefits of reintroducing beavers to Britain.

NRT released a pair of Eurasian beavers into a fully secure enclosure in North Norfolk in September 2021 which provides the background to this fascinating and passion inducing subject.

Talk starts at 7.30pm at Poringland Community Centre with doors and bar open at 7.00pm
