A huge thank you to Paramedic Robert for bringing his ambulance along for the children to explore today! 🚑

The children had a fantastic time taking turns to sit on the ambulance bed, trying the finger pulse monitor, and even sitting in the driver’s seat. It was a wonderful hands-on experience, and they loved learning all about the important work paramedics do.

Thank you, Robert, for taking the time to visit us and make it such a memorable experience!

We also had an exciting visit from PC Babs, who brought along his police car, and our local Fire Brigade! 🚓🚒 The children loved exploring the emergency vehicles, learning about the important roles of our emergency services, and asking lots of fantastic questions. It was a wonderful hands-on experience, helping the children learn about keeping safe while meeting some of our local community heroes. A huge thank you to PC Babs and the Fire Brigade for taking the time to visit us!

Earlier this month, we were delighted to welcome Gemma from Iloveuke and her ukulele to our preschool! 🎶 The children enjoyed joining in with familiar songs, clapping along to the music, and exploring different rhythms. It was wonderful to see so many smiling faces as everyone sang, danced, and shared in the fun. Thank you for bringing such a joyful musical experience to our preschoo! 💙

As friday was the hottest day of the year, we brought the beach indoors for a fun and cooling sensory experience!

The children took part in a water-themed activity where they explored four different tuff trays using their feet and hands. Each tray offered a unique sensory experience, including shells, bubbles, shaving foam, and sea creatures. The children loved feeling the different textures beneath their feet and talking about what they could feel.

As part of the experience, calming sounds of the sea played in the background, creating a relaxing beach atmosphere. Some of the children chose to lie down and pretend they were relaxing on the beach, using their wonderful imaginations to bring the seaside to life.

The staff then gently sprayed a fine mist of water over the children, just like the refreshing spray of the sea waves. There were lots of smiles, laughter, and excited reactions as everyone enjoyed cooling off while engaging in this immersive sensory experience.

It was a lovely way to stay cool on such a hot day while encouraging sensory exploration, imaginative play, and relaxation—all from the comfort of our preschool classroom!

Free online evening training session this week about sensory processing for young children with SEND.

This free session for parents and carers offers a gentle introduction to sensory processing and how it may affect your child’s everyday experiences.

🗓️ Thursday 2 July
🕕 6pm to 9pm
💻 Online

The session will help you to:

▪️understand what sensory processing is and why it matters
▪️explore different sensory needs and responses
▪️look at ways to create supportive environments for learning and play
▪️understand when extra support may be needed and where to go

The training is delivered by the Council for Disabled Children, part of the National Children’s Bureau. Their work focuses on helping children and young people with SEND to have full, happy childhoods, and supporting families to live ordinary lives.

🌿🐑 A Very Special Visitor 🐑🌿

We had a lovely surprise on Monday when one of our children brought in a baby lamb called Pippa!

She joined us in the garden, where we watched her happily munch the grass (and nearly our flowers too! 🌸). The children were fascinated and asked lots of great questions about her age, what she eats, and why she has a tag on her ear.

A huge thank you to our family for sharing such a special experience with us 💛
