Day Three’s post for Deaf Awareness Week is on Terms to describe Deafness ! ✨
There are several ways to refer to someone who has hearing loss such as Hard of Hearing, Deafened or d/Deaf. People have different experiences and preferences on how they want to be referred to as.
Not all Deaf individuals may use sign language or require hearing aids or cochlear implants and/ or other assistive listening devices :))

The second post for Deaf Awareness Week is on reasons why we celebrate it! ✨
Deafness can be isolating and challenging, therefore it is important that these weeks exist to spread awareness and light to these issues and help break down the communication barriers between hearing and hard of hearing individuals ☺️
