I’ve always wanted to study abroad, more specifically in England. One of my dreams was to fly oversees and get immersed in a culture that was so different than mine yet as interesting and beautiful. I had never heard of Norwich before my exchange program, and due to my career (Creative Writing), I found out that UEA had the perfect study program for me....

How a love of Harry Potter brought Meixi to study abroad in Norwich 11/10/2024

I've been a big fan of Harry Potter since childhood and always wanted to come to the UK. When I applied for the exchange program, I searched for universities that also accepted postgraduate students, and UEA was my only option at that time. Choosing UEA was a coincidence, but it turned out to be the perfect fit for me. On the first day that I arrived in the UK, there was a lot of support, including airport pickup, key collection, and car drive help to my accommodation....

From Grenoble to UEA: Maxime’s time in Norwich 18/09/2024

At first, I really wanted to apply for a university in an English-speaking country to be in full immersion and improve my linguistic skills. When applying for studying abroad, I had never been to the United Kingdom before, and I always found this country very attractive! The proximity with France was also interesting so I could use different means of transport and not only the plane....

How Elisabeth’s time as a Student Ambassador impacted her time abroad 29/08/2024

Before choosing where to go for my Erasmus exchange year, I looked at many universities online. When I first googled UEA and Norwich, the beautiful and inviting pictures really caught my eye. Bec’s very unique time at UEA on exchange from Australia 19/08/2024

My name is Bec and I can guarantee that my time on exchange was VERY different from the average student. I decided to undertake an exchange at UEA as it was the closest university to where my boyfriend (at the time) lived. I planned to move to the UK so we could be together as long distance is awful. I was fortunate enough to be able to complete the final year of my degree on exchange which made this an easier transition....

Why studying abroad at UEA was the best decision for Antoine 12/01/2024

Studying abroad was my goal when I started my bachelor’s degree in modern foreign languages at the University of Tours, France. The last semester of the final year had to be spent abroad. I had hoped to complete the final year of my bachelor's degree abroad, preferably in an English-speaking country. I applied to both Canada and the US but unfortunately, I was not selected due to high demand....

Do you like watching videos? Take part in our eye tracking study about subtitles! You will get to see a recording of how your eyes move around the screen when you watch clips of films and will receive a £10 Amazon voucher as a thank you.

Are you aged 18-45 years? Is your first language English? Take part in a study about subtitles!

Watching subtitled films is a complex activity. In fact, while watching a 90-minute film, you will move your eyes over 20 thousand times! But how is our gaze dependent on the nature of the video, sound and subtitles? This study uses eye tracking to examine exactly that.

You will have the opportunity to get to know the eye tracking technology used and to see how your eyes move around the screen. It will only take 2 hours of your time and you will receive a £10 Amazon voucher as a thank you. To sign up: https://doodle.com/meeting/participate/id/aA6rEK3b/vote
