World Book Day is always such a wonderful day at Cecil Gowing Infant and Nursery School! We loved seeing your children's costumes, hearing about their favourite books and giving them time to share their books with their friends. The adults enjoyed dressing up too! Thank you to all the parents who worked so hard to make, or buy, such amazing costumes for their children today. We love reading!

Our amazing Year 2 children are warmly welcomed to Sprowston Methodist Church today for a day of learning all about the Christian celebration of Christmas. They heard stories, sang songs, played games and took part in some wonderful Christmas themed crafts. A huge thank you to all the volunteers at Sprowston Methodist Church for all their hard work in putting together such a special day for our children!

We are incredibly proud of the group of Year 2 children who represented Cecil Gowing Infant and Nursery School at a Remembrance Service at the Memorial Cottages today.
They showed great respect and maturity during the Remembrance Service, observing the two minutes’ silence impeccably.
Lots of people at the service commented on their politeness and excellent behaviour — each and every one of them was a credit to themselves and to our school.

A huge thank you to Tiago's Pizza Norwich for giving our children such a wonderful, hands-on experience! From kneading dough to choosing toppings, our little chefs loved learning how to make their own pizzas. The excitement didn't stop there... the children even got to step on to the pizza truck and watch their creations cook in the wood-fired oven!

The Benjamin Foundation are holding an event for young carers (aged 5 to 14) during the half term holiday. The event is being held at Challenge Woods and is free of charge. More details and a QR code to sign up are on the poster.

Reception and Nursery had some very special visitors last week from Evie's Owls! The children loved meeting the owls up close and learning fascinating facts about them. This amazing visit really brought our learning about owls to life and inspired so many curious questions!

We were so lucky to have successfully been awarded the "School Based Nursery Grant Funding" last year and over the summer our nursery was completely transformed! Thank you so much to everyone who worked so hard to bring our beautiful nursery together. From planning to painting, from little details to big changes your dedication shines through in every corner of our amazing new nursery space!

We are so proud to share that we are now Cecil Gowing Infant AND Nursery School! Over the summer our new on-site nursery has been absolutely transformed both inside and out. Our school and nursery team have worked tirelessly over the summer (and the past week) to create this amazing provision for our youngest learners. We can't wait to begin the next part of our journey as Cecil Gowing Infant and Nursery School!
