Hewett School

Clair Ling sent this request in. I wonder if anyone can remember a girl called Paula Dodds, she passed away in 1978, so she would have been 12/13, just seeing if anyone knew her?

Sad news to report. I attended the funeral of Mrs Kath Bass yesterday. She taught for many years at the Hewett from 1971 in the Child Development department which incorporated the Nursery. She worked alongside Mrs June Betts. This department was groundbreaking and revolutionary. It had great influence on the lives of many, many people. Much later on Kath work with the Sixth Form team where she helped with University Applications, Counselling and all
Of the other aspects of the work done by the team. I had good chats with June Betts and Bob Maynard afterwards .

Music teacher Ian Lord who taught at Hewett from 1987 - 2003 sadly passed away a few weeks ago. His Service and Celebration Of Life will be held at 1.30pm on Tuesday 25th Oct at Saint Andrew’s Church, Mill Street, Buxton, NR10 5JE followed by tea/coffee and cake at Buxton Village Hall (across the road from the church).

All welcome to come and share happy memories. Wear casual clothing if you prefer.

I was sorting through a load of old photos and slides before chucking them out when I found this. This was my first ever form. We started in 1978 so this is a bit later than that but I'm not sure exactly when it was.

Make sure that you go and see "Fighting With my Family" to see the story of former Hewett students Zak and Saraya! Great entertainment.
