🌟 A Fantastic Time at Kids Kingdom! 🌟

Yesterday, our Little Squirrels children had an amazing time visiting Kids Kingdom at Castle Quarter! 🏰✨

From becoming doctors and hairdressers to running their very own supermarket and café, the children embraced every role-play opportunity with enthusiasm, creativity and imagination. It was wonderful to see them learning through play, building confidence and working together so beautifully.

We were incredibly proud of how kind, caring and respectful our children were throughout the visit. They represented Little Squirrels brilliantly, showing excellent manners, making new friends and demonstrating our nursery values every step of the way.

A huge thank you to everyone at Kids Kingdom for providing such a fun, welcoming and engaging experience. It was a day full of smiles, laughter, learning and lots of imaginative play! ✨

🌟Celebration of Karin as she heads into Retirement 🌟

We would like to take a moment to acknowledge and celebrate an amazing practitioner who is retiring from childcare this week.

Karin has been supporting children in our setting for 17 years. We tried to work out how many children she may have supported to help grow and develop over this period and it would be a minimum of 600 children. Karin has had experience working with all ages in our nursery and gets to know the children well. She has offered many new experiences for children to develop life skills and to expand on children’s cultural capital.

🌳 Karin has taken lead in areas such as Tree Champion, planting and looking after trees around our nursery. Encouraging children to look after them, watering them and measuring how much they have grown, all of which is supporting sustainability in the environment.
👩‍🍳 Karin also loves cooking and always tried to promote this with the children. Once the vegetables and herbs had grown in our garden she would talk to the children about all the steps we took to help them grow and then finally she would create soups for children to try out.
🚽 Karin was also our Toileting Champion and has also supported many families with potty training for their children, ensuring she provided information, strategies and a consistent approach both in nursery and at home.
📚 Karin is always the first to promote books and especially enjoyed to dress up to imitate the characters in the book. At times Karin had put together productions of books with other practitioners to re-enact and put on a show for the children developing an excitement for reading books.
🧑‍🧑‍🧒‍🧒Parent relationships is strong and many families return to the setting because Karin gets to know them all well. She made sure she had time for everyone to discuss parent’s worries and children’s celebrations alike. Karin would also organise the stay and play events for parents putting together such a creative environment in order for parents to experience and share learning opportunities for their children.

💫Karin makes all activities fun and endeavoured to create a wonderful environment full of awe and wonder. We have only shared a snapshot of Karin’s involvement with the nursery and it would take me much longer to share everything that Karin has contributed and achieved within the nursery. The staff and children just want to share and acknowledge how grateful and lucky we have been having Karin being part of our team at Little Squirrels Play Forest in Gorleston and wish her a lovely retirement but still hopeful she may return to share some of her new adventures in her retirement. 🍀
