Music with Mary Baby, toddler and preschool music groups in NR2

Music classes are around 30 minutes long and contain specially designed songs and activities to help your child enjoy singing and playing instruments. The classes include
Action Songs and Rhymes
Playing percussion instruments
Rhythm activities
Movement and circle games
Parental participation
An introduction, through fun activities to simple musical terminology. The class will also help your child to recognise musical concepts such as dynamics (loud and soft), tempo (fast and slow) in a simple and fun way. Their social skills are developed through sharing and taking turns, and the classes are a great first activity for new parents.

It's been great to be back singing with my lovely families this week. There are a couple of spaces in the classes on Thursday and Friday 9.30 at the Belvedere Centre so please message me if you would like to join us. I am happy to offer a taster session before signing up for the class.

The new term of classes starts next week and there are a couple of spaces in the Thurs 9.30 and Fri 9.30 groups at the Belvedere Centre NR2.

The classes last around 40 mins and are based on a different theme each half term. We have a a mixture of activities such as movement, singing, percussion instruments, props/puppets, lycra, scarves and so on.

The classes have musical aims such as loud/soft, high/low sounds, stopping/silence, anticipation, fast/slow. I use movement in the session to reinforce these ideas, which is very important in understanding beats, speed and rhythm. Simple percussion instruments will also be used to help children understand these ideas.

If you haven't tried a class before, you can come as a one-off before deciding. Please message me for more information!

Booking is now open for the new half term which will begin next week.

Provisional timetable is Weds 9.30, Thurs 9.30 and Fri 9.30 all at the Belvedere Centre NR2 for over 1s.

Baby class Thurs 10.15 for under 1s.

On Fri this week, there is a Macmillan Coffee Morning being held at the Belvedere Centre from 10-2.30. Loads of lovely refreshments, raffle prizes, games etc so I hope my families old and new will be able to come along and support this amazing charity!

The classes are booked per half term and I offer the first class pay as you go for new members so you can make sure the class is suitable before signing up.
