πŸ¦–πŸ₯š Dinosaur Week has been full of excitement in Nursery 2 weeks ago!

We discovered some mysterious eggs and became dinosaur detectives, making predictions about what might be inside βœοΈπŸ”. The children carefully observed, drew pictures and waited patiently to see what would hatch!

We also built our very own volcano πŸŒ‹ and watched in amazement as it rumbled and erupted, sending lava flowing down the sides. There was lots of fantastic discussion about what it looked like and how hot it might be! πŸ”₯🀩

What a roar-some week of learning! πŸ¦•βœ¨

🎭🌱 Year One had a fantastic time watching Garlic Theatre's puppet show, Jack and the Beans Talk 2 weeks ago!

The children loved helping Jack milk Daisy the cow πŸ„ and chop down the beanstalk 🌿. After the performance, they discovered how the puppets were made before creating their own amazing puppets in the afternoon 🎨✨

This wonderful experience will help inspire the children's own Jack and the Beanstalk stories. Well done, Year One! πŸ‘πŸ˜Š

Today, some of our Year 3 and Year 4 children had the opportunity to take part in an athletics competition. They competed in a variety of events and demonstrated outstanding grit, determination, and sportsmanship throughout the day. The children also showed fantastic teamwork during their relay races, supporting and encouraging one another every step of the way.

We are incredibly proud to share that they were crowned overall winners, finishing ahead of 14 other schools. This is a fantastic achievement and a testament to their hard work, resilience, and team spirit. Well done to all involved! πŸ†πŸ‘

Yesterday our Girls football team took part in the NPSFA Jubilee cup Final at the Nest. βš½οΈπŸ†
It was a fantastic game to watch with Queens Hill having most of the ball. By full time the girls had done enough to comfortably secure the win. It has been great to see this group of girls grow in ability and confidence. All the adults are so proud of your achievements, teamwork and attitude on the pitch. πŸŒŸπŸ‘

Year 5 completed our whole‑school maths investigation today, and what a challenge it was!
Pupils explored how many different symmetrical Incan necklaces they could design using just 9 beads and 2 colours.πŸ”βœ¨

They tested ideas, spotted patterns, and used brilliant reasoning to work out which designs were truly symmetrical. It was fantastic to see so much creativity, teamwork and mathematical thinking shining through! πŸ“ΏπŸŒˆπŸ“

EYFS have had an egg-citing couple of weeks! 🐣✨

The children made predictions about what would hatch β€” some hoping for dragons or dinosaurs πŸ‰πŸ¦– β€” and were amazed when fluffy chicks appeared instead! They observed the chicks’ growth, recorded their findings in their β€œegg to chick” diaries, helped feed them, and even held them gently. We also enjoyed chick-themed activities and made our very own chick biscuits. What a fun way to learn about baby animals and how to care for them! 🌟
