During the session, we guide learners through:
• The structure of the course and what each unit covers
• How to use our virtual learning environment, StudyHub
• How assessments work and what's expected
• What to expect from our live workshops
• The range of support available throughout the programme, including assignment writing guidance and one-to-one tutorials.

We don't expect learners to work everything out for themselves. Our aim is to ensure everyone starts their journey feeling confident, prepared and supported from day one.

Yay! Congratulations to the first two Level 7 Senior People Professional apprentices at the Colchester Institute to go through EPA - and they achieved Distinctions!

What a fantastic achievement and a real testament to the dedication and hard work of both apprentices. Congratulations also to the brilliant team at Colchester Institute for the support and guidance they provided throughout the programme.

We're especially proud that one apprentice has already completed their CIPD Advanced Diploma in Strategic People Management with Blue Sky, while the other is now completing their final unit.

A wonderful milestone and the start of what we're sure will be many more success stories. Well done to everyone involved!

Frequently asked questions about enrolment

Thinking about studying for a CIPD qualification? Here are some of the questions we hear most often:

❓ Which CIPD level is right for me?
This can be tricky and will be different for each person. We run regular information sessions where you can find out more about each level and discuss your individual situation with an experienced programme manager. Contact [email protected] and ask for details.

❓ Can I study alongside a full-time job?
Yes, the majority of our students are working, most full time, in demanding jobs, and with family commitments. The learning materials can be accessed 24/7 at a time that suits you and the live workshops are 2 mornings a month online or 1 day a month face to face which you can diary up to a year in advance. If you choose to study online you can also access the recordings if you can’t make the live session.

❓ How long will it take to complete?
The level 3 Foundation Certificate in People Practice takes approximately 8 months to complete, the Level 5 Associate Diploma in People Management is around 16 months to finish and the Level 7 Advanced Diploma in Strategic People Management takes between 2-2.5 years to complete depending on when you finish the work based project unit. We can be flexible – some students take longer, and some who are super speedy double up on units and complete in record time but they are not usually working as well!

❓ What support will I receive during my studies?
Choosing a smaller training provider like us means you'll benefit from a dedicated person to contact and support you, direct access to experienced tutors who you will have met, and a learning experience tailored to your goals. As a CIPD Platinum Centre, we're recognised for delivering high-quality learning and outstanding student support.
