It is with great sadness that we share with you that Mrs Sue Prutton passed away just before Christmas. Sue was a stalwart of the school over many years, holding many roles, including Pre Prep Secretary and Admissions secretary, as well as, most recently, School Archivist until her retirement last summer. She was a cherished member of our community and she will be greatly missed by all. Our sincere condolences go out to Sue’s family at this sad time.

We also say thank you & farewell to our Bursar of 12 years, Benita Ogg. Benita has made a huge impact since she joined the School, being part of the team who negotiated the purchase of the freehold site & overseeing the building of the sports hall, the redevelopment of Read Hall & the re-modelling & extension of the Nursery & Year 2 Nest.
We wish Benita a very long, happy & healthy retirement!

As the final day of term is upon us, we say a fond farewell & good luck to a number of retiring staff whose impact at Town Close, in their respective areas of expertise, has been nothing short of extraordinary. To Sarah Laing, our deputy Head of Pre Prep; Audrey Jolliffe, our School Counsellor; Paul Newman, Games & lead Cricket coach; & Sue Prutton, our indefatigable School Archivist - thank you all & we will miss you.

After over 35 incredible years of working at Town Close, today we say a fond farewell to our extraordinary Head of Maintenance, Ray & we wish him all the very best on his retirement. After 107 terms of dedicated service, Ray will be sorely missed by all of his Town Close family & wider community.
He’ll forever be a true Town Close Treasure!

We would like to thank The Church of St Peter Mancroft for hosting our annual Prep Carol Service this morning. A feast of festive carols, inspiring readings & lessons with beautiful choral performances from our Junior, Intermediate & Senior choirs. We hope that you enjoyed the live feed & that the spirit of Christmas transcended the distance between us all this Christmas.

Finally, we say goodbye & good luck to our indomitable Headmaster, Mr Bevington. Thank you for your passion, your enthusiasm & your boundless positivity over the last 8 years. We wish you all the very best in your new role in Singapore.
