Stunning bento box! 🥰❤️

Just over here putting everything into something that I'd never thought would be possible, this wedding cake made me feel proud to do what I do, in my opinion it's just perfect, from the groves on the cake to the piping! 🥹

Who knew little old me, before this was just a key holder at Card Factory struggling with life, not knowing what path to take, years of working in Dementia care homes, Nursery's and the Castle Carvery's play area just to get by, that now I would be here creating such beautiful cakes for people to enjoy at their weddings?

I was stuck in a rut between going to work and staying in bed, battling my health conditions. I was making myself worse by panicking about letting people down with calling in sick, I couldn't leave the house/bathroom most days 🤒

9 years ago the Doctors signed me off full time from work and I spent some years getting "well". Hospital appointments, therapy, resting, trailing lots of medication, understanding my conditions. This gave me the opportunity to get things calm, manageable and actually start living again, rather than being between the bedroom and the bathroom. So I spent lots of time making cupcakes since I was home with nothing to really to do!🧁(George was chuffed!)

That's all Cakes by Abbie was, cupcakes for a while, giving tons of them away to friends or people paying cost, then one day my hair dresser at the time asked for a big cake, I took the plunge and gave it a go, that 1 cake took me 8 hours to complete .. but it was a sale, he believing I could and as they say the rest is history.

I'm coming up to doing this insured and fully registered 6 years now! 🥹

If you've know me, you know this business is my everything, my passion, my life, I'm forever thinking about it, talking constantly to people, making toppers or ordering ingredients. I'm passionate and put every ounce of me into it, I will defend myself when I feel I'm right and be the first to admit when I'm wrong, I'll share the controversial things and take on lots of opinions, growing all the time 🥰

Seeing as I'm feeling mega grateful, I want to thank each and everyone one of you for supporting this maaaaad journey, whether that be a comment, a like, a share or an order, it really does mean more to me than you know ❤️

It's not every day you're commissioned to make a cake for a top secret event and your cake gets cut by Sandy the Chairman of Norfolk Blood Bikes 😍

If you saw the news or their socials yesterday you would have seen that recently they received a new car, that has been funded by the Prince of Wales! He joined the teams yesterday in making delivery of blood in the car from the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust over to the East Anglian Air Ambulance Charity!

What a massssssive honour it was to provide a big, beautiful 8" victoria sponge cake to celebrate the occasion 🥹

Lots of lovely compliments regarding my Swiss meringue buttercream too! 😋

"Can you create this cake".. sends 1st image..

My heart dropped 😢🥲
"Absolutely I can, because it's mine 🥹😳"

She was extremely apologetic, I said to her, she had nothing to apologise for, unless she had done it; she told me she didn't and she had messaged a baker for a wicked themed cake for her daughter and was sent that image of that lady's work!

Imagine then searching for the best quote with that inspiration photo, finding the real baker and them having proof 😱

This lady did go back to the other maker and tell her this, but won't pass on which baker it was. I do totally understand she doesn't want to cause anyone any problems 🥲

The power of AI or someone's editing skills, CRAZZZZY! My background has been removed totally, you wouldn't even know this cake was one of mine!

All I want to say if you're reading this baker - you can replicated but you can't duplicate my work, do better, it's unfair to your customers or if this is your work, I'd love to see more photos because I can prove it's one of mine 😜 Right Kayleigh 💖
