This week YR3 have been busy completing their independent non-chronological reports. I have learnt a lot from their reports, especially Axolotls!

In Maths we have been learning to add and subtract with exchange. To help us we used Base 10 and drew it.

Some of us went to the art studio this week where we stepped back in time to the Stone Age and created cave art using our hands and charcoal! The rest of us continued to design a castle ready to build.

Well done on a very busy week and we hope your weekend goes off with a 'bang'!

The puppies came to visit! Year 3 children were able to stroke the puppies. Everyone loved how soft and cuddly they were.

In Art Year 3 have been focusing on the work of local artist Laura McKendry and comparing her work with charcoal and graphite to the work of Edgar Degas. We have had a fantastic time producing gestural art. We have also discussed chiaroscuro and created sketches demonstrating light and dark.

Mrs Petchey spent the day with Year 6 and the teachers at Bawdsey Manor today. The children had another fun packed day with raft building, the giant swing, rifle shooting, orienteering and they are currently ending the day with a campfire. It has been wonderful seeing the children trying new things, working as a team, encouraging each other and cheering each other on.
Well done Year 6 such a memorable and enjoyable day!
