Responsible & Effective Social Care...

We aim to provide the best possible care and support to chi

23/08/2024

A little while ago, one of the young people in our service moved on but still stayed in touch. Two weeks ago, he reached out with the emotional news that his younger brother had made it to the UK and was a few counties away.

He asked for our help to find him and bring him to Norwich.
Our incredible UASC team immediately made contact with the East of England Coordinator and Norfolk County Council, and they worked to successfully locate his brother, and we were informed that they would be bringing him to Norwich, and we have accepted him here with our UASC Service.

Last week, the brothers were reunited, and the brother is now staying in the same house and room his older brother once did.

This moment was made possible through the dedication of our team, and we couldn’t be prouder to welcome him into our service and support him as he starts his new journey in the UK.

We’re excited to kick off 2024 with a heartwarming initiative that embodies the spirit and values of Juventas. In 2024 we have embraced a commitment to giving back and we’re thrilled to share the results of our Fundraising Committee’s first endeavour – a charity bake sale that not only satisfied our bellies but also raised much needed funds for our chosen charity of the year – Andy’s Man Club.

The bake sale was an amazing success, raising over £78 on the day. From delectable cookies to mouthwatering cupcakes, our organisation’s talented bakers showcased their skills, filling our head office with some truly irresistible goodies.

At Juventas we understand the impact that the smallest of gestures can make on an individual, it’s what we do and who we are. Our commitment to fundraising for Andy’s Man Club reflects on our dedication to being a socially responsible company who are committed to making a positive difference, not only within the organisation, but also in the wider community.

What to do if You're a Victim of Identity Fraud | Experian 01/09/2022

Did you know that 1st September is National Child Identity Theft Awareness Day?

Child identity theft is the criminal act of using a child’s identity for the purposes of identity fraud.

Child identity theft often goes unnoticed, and unchecked, for years and may not be detected until that child has grown up and is applying for loans or trying to buy a house – situations that would require a credit score check.

Identity theft has the potential to destroy a child’s life before it even starts, and Looked After Children can be especially vulnerable to this when their details are being shared amongst professional organisations, such as local authorities, schools and doctors.

Here are some practices that we as professionals can implement to help protect a child’s personal information.

· Educating children on the importance of protecting their personal details.

· Ensure that digital files including a child’s sensitive data are always password protected(especially when sharing them with another service), and keep physical files locked in a secure place.

· Ensure that you and the children you work with are using a computer, phone or tablet with an up-to-date anti-virus.

· Only sharing a child’s sensitive information when it’s absolutely necessary.

· Checking a child’s credit score, so you’re able to notice any unusual activity - It can be useful to teach children and teenagers how to do this themselves if they have capacity to learn, so they're able check for themselves in the future.

· Shred or destroy any documents that are no longer needed.

If you suspect that a child you’re working with has been a victim of identity theft, click on the link below for further advice from Experian on what to do next.

What to do if You're a Victim of Identity Fraud | Experian It's important to take action quickly if you've suffered identity fraud. Fraudsters may steal money from your bank accounts & take out credit in your name – so you want to stop them as soon as you can.
