📚🚌 Green Stars had a wonderful trip to the library today! The children enjoyed an exciting bus journey before exploring the library, choosing books and sharing stories together.

Library visits are a fantastic way to encourage a love of reading from an early age. Sharing stories helps children to develop their language and communication skills, spark their imagination and build their understanding of the world around them. Visiting places within our local community also helps to develop children's confidence and independence as they learn through new experiences.

⭐ We are so proud of Green Stars for being such fantastic ambassadors for the nursery and embracing every part of today's adventure. Well done, Green Stars! ⭐

🧱✨ Block play has been taking centre stage in Green Stars at UEA Nursery!

Our children have been busy designing, building and creating using a variety of blocks and loose parts. From towering structures to imaginative homes and exciting inventions, their creativity has been endless! 🌟

Block play is so much more than building. It supports children's problem-solving skills, early mathematical thinking, communication and teamwork. As they play, the children are learning to plan, negotiate, persevere and share their ideas with others. 🗣️➕🔢

We love seeing the children's confidence grow as they work together, overcome challenges and proudly talk about their creations. It's a wonderful reminder that the most meaningful learning happens through play and the simplest resources inspire the biggest imaginations! 💙

🌿🦆 UEA Nursery Trip to the Lake 🦆🌿

What a fantastic morning we had exploring the lake together! With the sun shining, it was the perfect opportunity for our nursery community to enjoy the beautiful surroundings of the UEA campus, discovering nature and learning together.
The children showed excellent listening skills, followed our road safety reminders beautifully, and walked so sensibly throughout the trip.
We are incredibly proud of them all!💚

As we wandered through the woods, we enjoyed the sounds of nature, talked about how to behave safely around wildlife and dogs. We had great fun using our best duck calls to attract some feathered visitors. 🦆 The excitement on the children's faces when the ducks came to visit was a joy to see!

A wonderful morning of outdoor learning, building confidence, and creating special memories together. Well done, everyone! 💚

🌿🐭 Blue Room Forest Adventure! 🐭🌿

Our Blue Room children had a wonderful time exploring the forest today!

During a minibeast hunt, we made a very exciting discovery – a tiny shrew! The children were fascinated as they carefully observed their unexpected visitor, excitedly greeting it with a cheerful chorus of "Hello, Shrew!" before watching it scurry back into its natural habitat.

Our adventure was filled with singing, exploring, and learning about the amazing wildlife that lives in the forest. Experiences like these help to spark curiosity, encourage respect for nature, and create lasting memories.

What a fantastic day of outdoor learning! 🍃🎶💚

This opportunity could be ideal if you:
✔ Have experience working with children but do not yet hold a full Level 3 Early Years qualification
✔ Are looking to return to the sector after a career break
✔ Are considering a career change into a rewarding profession
✔ Want to formalise your existing skills and experience through a recognised qualification

As an apprentice, you'll earn while you learn, working alongside our experienced team in a well-established nursery environment while gaining your Level 3 qualification.

🌱 Getting busy in the allotment! 🌞

The children have been enjoying some wonderful gardening experiences in our allotment area. They carefully planted a courgette plant and transplanted the sunflower seedlings, making sure to give them plenty of water in the sunshine. 🌻💧

There was lots of excitement as the children picked some fresh broad beans and worked together to pod them, exploring where our food comes from and developing their teamwork skills along the way. 🫛

We can’t wait to watch everything continue to grow! 🌿

☀️ Keeping Cool at UEA Nursery ☀️

With the warmer weather here, we’ve been finding lots of fun ways to stay cool and comfortable at UEA Nursery! 💦

Water play is a fantastic way for children to explore, learn and regulate their body temperature while having fun with friends. From splashing, pouring and scooping to imaginative play outdoors, water activities support children’s physical development, communication skills, creativity and wellbeing. 🌈🪣

We also make sure children have:
💧 Regular access to fresh drinking water
🧢 Sun hats and shaded areas outdoors
🌿 Calm, cool spaces to rest and relax
☀️ Plenty of opportunities for outdoor learning safely in the sunshine

Learning through play continues in every season, and summer brings so many exciting sensory experiences! 🌻

🥔🌟 Our Yellow Stars children have been busy discovering potatoes in the mud kitchen today! 🌟🥔

The children explored the different shapes, textures, and sizes of the potatoes, activities like this help support sensory development, curiosity, and early communication skills through hands-on play. 💛

We loved seeing their excitement and creativity as they explored the natural world around them! 🌿✨
