World Book Day 2026 📖

Reception admissions for September 2026 close on Thursday 15th January.

If you have applied, the Local Authority will offer you a school place on Thursday 16th April 2026 (National Offer Day).

Parents & Carers must apply through their local council for a reception place for children born between 1 September 2021 and 31 August 2022.

A reminder that this Friday, 19th December, is our Festive Lunch Menu!

Please make your choice via MCAS as normal but note that when you place an order for your child's Christmas lunch for this date, it will correspond to the following menu options:

Hot 1 - A traditional Roast Turkey dinner
Hot 2 - Spinach, Cranberry & Feta Pastry
Jacket potatoes and sandwiches will be available as normal.

It's nearly time for some Festive Fun!

Due to the success of the last few years the Friends of Charles Darwin have been busy organising festive fun days for all the children again this year.

These will take place during the school day on Wednesday 17th and Thursday 18th December. Santa has been invited and he will be handing out presents to all the children, plus our school elves will be on hand to help the children pick out and wrap a gift for a family member of their choice!

There is a voluntary £1 donation on MCAS that will go to the Friends of Charles Darwin helping to support these great events.

Primary Teachers support our children through such crucial stages of their development and at Great Yarmouth Primary Academy and Charles Darwin Primary & Nursery, we are hiring additional teachers to support our next generation of young people.

At Great Yarmouth Charter Academy we are hoping to find a fantastic Science Teacher to join the team, inspiring pupils to dive deeper into the subject and form lifelong passions.

The team at Thetford Academy are looking for a Maths Teacher to cover maternity leave, a fantastic opportunity to provide support and gain lots of experience, with applications from Early Careers Teachers welcomed.

On Friday 17th October, The Friends of Charles Darwin Primary would like to invite all pupils to come to school with their craziest hairstyles.

Pupils should come to school in their normal uniform, but can go wild with their hair… spooky, spikey, glittery… the crazier the better!

To take part, The Friends of Charles Darwin have requested a donation of £1. This is payable on the MCAS app or can be handed in on the day.
