๐ Major Milestone for the SIGHT Trial! ๐
Weโre delighted to share that the SIGHT trial (Spatial Inattention Grasping Therapy for neglect postโstroke) has now received HRA and HCRW ethics approval โ a critical milestone and the green light to begin participant recruitment!
Supported by a ยฃ1.26 million NIHR-MRC award, the SIGHT trial represents the largest study of spatial inattention therapy ever conducted. It aims to determine whether our innovative, portable therapy can help stroke survivors who experience spatial neglect โ a condition that affects around one-third of stroke survivors ๏ฟผ.
๐ง The trial will involve 206 participants, randomly assigned either to receive SIGHT in addition to standard care or to continue with usual care alone โ shining a light on which patients benefit most, and why.
This achievement wouldnโt have been possible without our amazing team, dedicated collaborators, and invaluable input from stroke survivors, families, and clinicians.
๐ Weโre thrilled to now open recruitmentโvisit our UEA SIGHT website to learn more and find out how to get involved: https://www.uea.ac.uk/about/school-of-psychology/sight-trial/about-sight-trial

What we do
Welcome to the page of the Neuropsychology lab at the School of Psychology, University of East Anglia, Norwich, UK.
Our research goal is to provide a better understanding of how the brain supports perception, action and attention and how these abilities are affected by aging and brain disease. Ultimately, we aim to improve clinical practice in brain disease through the translation of cognitive neuroscience models and methods. A recent BBC news video about our work can be viewed here
We are always looking for volunteers to help us with our research. We have a number of studies ongoing looking at how aging affects cognition and investigating new tools for tackling cognitive problems in people with brain disease (stroke, traumatic brain injury, dementia and cognitive impairment).
We have free parking at the UEA or can reimburse public transport travel costs
If you would like to find out more about our work and how you can help please contact us.
