🏍️ Which CB1000 are you choosing?
Honda seem to be giving us three very different flavours of CB1000…
🔵 CB1000F
Retro style, modern performance, proper old-school Honda energy.
⚫ CB1000SP
Naked, aggressive, sporty and probably the one that gets you into the most trouble. 😂
🔴 CB1000GT
More comfort, more wind protection, more touring ability… but still with that CB1000 attitude.
So, if you could only pick ONE…
👍 CB1000F
❤️ CB1000SP
😮 CB1000GT
😡 None I’m keeping what I’ve got

👇 Which one are you choosing, and why?
I’ll be honest… I’m struggling more than I expected with this one. The SP looks like the hooligan choice, the GT makes the most sense, but the F has that classic Honda look that just works.

At the start of your motorcycle test, the examiner makes it clear:
They’re there to give directions not to be treated like a road user.
Now picture this....
You’ve been asked to pull up on the left for a hill start.
Before moving away, you do your checks.
No vehicles behind you.
No vehicles ahead.
No pedestrians.
No cyclists.
No one who would benefit from a signal.
Should you indicate before moving off?
👍 Yes always signal before moving off
❤️ No only signal if it benefits someone
😮 Depends on the situation
😡 I was taught one thing for test, then something different after passing

👇 Where do you stand on this?
There seems to be a real split between riders currently going through DAS Module 2 training and riders who’ve gone on to do post-test training like RoSPA, IAM or ERS.
So let’s hear it:
Is not signalling good observation… or bad habit?

Should you be allowed to work as a delivery rider on L plates?

This has become a genuine discussion again.
The London Assembly has called for provisional-licence holders to be prevented from doing commercial delivery work, while the Government is already considering wider changes intended to encourage riders to progress beyond CBT

So what do motorcyclists think?
❤️ Yes CBT proves the basic standard required
👍🏻 Yes, but maybe an extra Module on CBT that covers said type of work
🤬 No commercial riders should need a full licence
😢 The licence isn't the problem; training/enforcement is

This one could get spicy. 🌶️

Module 1 Stories;

Does anyone have any interesting stories about their Module 1 Training or Test?

I have seen many things but one that still to this day always comes first to mind

Had someone in training, on the Hazard Avoidance (Swerve) and said to them visually look at and aim for the furthest blue cone of the exercise because something I've always taught "Where you look is where the bike will normally go" you've probably heard it all before.....

Well with that being said the target speed is 50kph, with 48 & 49kph being a rider fault, they managed to swerve around the OUTSIDE of the furthest blue cone at 49kph through the speed trap 😲

Safe to say that was a first and currently haven't seen it again since, but have seen some absolutely amazing swerves where a candidate has been centre of the two cones both mine and other schools candidates 🙌🏻

The DVSA consultation this year asked whether first-time learners should have to pass the motorcycle theory and hazard-perception test before completing CBT, or potentially complete mandatory approved e-learning such as Ridefree

As an instructor I think it would definitely make courses smoother if people came with good prior understanding, however I wouldn't agree making a renewal CBT candidate do another theory. How we could work that in I have no idea 😅

So imagine the rule changed tomorrow:
No theory pass = no CBT.
Good idea?
♥️ YES - road knowledge should come before riding independently.
👍🏻 NO - CBT is training, not a test, and you're creating another barrier to motorcycling.
😲 SOMEWHERE BETWEEN - mandatory online theory training before CBT would be enough.

What would you choose?

I’ve been a bit quiet on here recently, and somehow it’s been over a month since I last posted any proper video content. 😂
No dramatic reason.
Just life, work, motorcycle training, moving house trying to keep up with everything… and occasionally pretending I have a content schedule when I absolutely do not.
The good news is I’ve still got loads of ideas, plenty of topics I want to cover, and some proper video content planned.
So this is me officially saying:
MotoSwimmer/N.A.T.E has not disappeared.
The camera has not been retired.
I have just been rubbish at posting. 😂
While I get back into the swing of things, tell me this…
What content do you want more of?
👍 CBT advice
❤️ Mod 1 / Mod 2 scenarios
😮 Riding tips and common mistakes
😡 Motorcycle debates that upset everyone in the comments

👇 Let me know what you want to see next.

🏍️ Is the new Insta360 X6 pricing out normal creators?

I’ve been looking at the new Insta360 X6, and honestly… I’m a bit torn.., especially as an affiliate

On one hand, the tech looks seriously impressive.

Better quality, better features, better everything.

But on the other hand…

Are these cameras starting to become too expensive for the majority of people who actually use them?

I use an Insta360 X3 for motorcycle content, and one of the reasons I’ve always liked Insta360 is because it made 360 footage feel accessible.

You didn’t need to be a professional filmmaker.

You could be a rider, instructor, commuter, vlogger, trackday rider or weekend biker and still get great footage.

But once the price keeps climbing, plus accessories, mounts, batteries, lens guards and audio setups…

…it starts becoming a serious investment.

So I’m curious:

What do you think?

👍 Worth the money if the quality is there

❤️ Too expensive for most riders/creators

😮 I’ll wait for the price to drop

😡 I’m sticking with my older camera

👇 Are action cameras becoming too expensive, or is this just the price of better tech?

🏍️ New rider question.
You’ve just completed your CBT and have £500 left after buying your 125.
What gets the money FIRST?
👍 Proper riding kit
❤️ extra training
😮 Security — locks, chain, tracker etc.
😡 Exhaust because obviously +17bhp 😂
You can only choose ONE.
👇 Experienced riders: what would you tell your 17-year-old/new-rider self to spend it on?

Common scenario discussion 👀

🏍️ A car pulls across your path.
You avoid the collision, stop safely and immediately say:
“But I had right of way!”
Technically, you may have been in the right…
…but motorcycles don't come with an invincibility shield. 😅
Which mentality makes the safer rider?
👍 Being legally correct matters most
❤️ Assume other road users might make mistakes
😮 Depends entirely on the situation
😡 “Right of way” will look great written on my gravestone

👇 What’s the best defensive-riding advice you were ever given?

15/08/2026

🏍️ You're doing the Mod 1 avoidance exercise.
You hit the required speed...
…but whilst swerving around the obstacle, you clip one of the blue cones 👀

What's your verdict?
👍 Riding fault
❤️ Serious fault
😮 Doesn't matter if the cone stays upright
😡 I have PTSD from that exercise

👇 Pass or fail? What's your answer?
