Kinsale Junior School: learning and achievement for all

19/06/2026

No celebration assembly today, due to our rather warm sports day (Post to follow).

⭐️The children instead received their certificates in their classes. Well done to all our Stars of the Week for setting a great example to your peers⭐️.

🎉Congratulations to Charles Darwin house too for being top Class Charts scorers and very few negatives last week🎉.

TTRS awards will be given out next week.

Have a lovely weekend KJS families.

☀️ Lower KS2 absolutely smashed Sports Day this morning! The children ran, jumped, cheered and smiled through the heat.
🏃‍♂️ They gave 100% in four amazing events: Hurdles, Sprint, Skipping and Relay
🏆 Who took the crown? The final scores are being added up now. We will find out the winners next week in our Celebration Assembly!
Thank you to everyone who came out to cheer them on!

⚽Congratulation to Logan for his sporting achievements outside of school! ⚽
He’s been playing for Old Catton JFC for the last two years and won the Old Catton Page Cup at his presentation day as well as being awarded most improved player and player's player of the year this season!
We loved hearing all about it in Giraffe Class!

As we near the end of the school year, Year 5 have been reflecting on their many achievements and the progress they have made throughout the year.

Through their self-portraits, the children have celebrated not only who they are, but also the successes they are most proud of, both in and out of the classroom. 🎉

Year 4 have been super busy working on their sewing skills. Focusing on their threading, knotting and using simple stitches, preparing to design and create their very own reusable bag! 🪡

😃Big smiles at Kinsale Junior School this morning! 🏫✨

🎉We were absolutely delighted to welcome some Year 2 pupils from Arden Grove Infant & Nursery School, along with Mr Cook, for a special visit today.

📚Our visitors headed straight to the library to spend time with some of our Year 5 pupils, sharing stories and getting to know each other.

🦒Afterwards, they joined our Year 3 Giraffe Class for a fun break time play on the playground!

This morning was a fantastic step in helping the children prepare for their big move to us in September. They did brilliantly, and enjoyed spending time at KJS . We are already looking forward to welcoming them back in July for their official transition days!

👋💙

Some more pictures of our wonderful Year 5s at Pensthorpe! We had a fantastic day exploring, learning and enjoying the great outdoors. The children were enthusiastic, curious and a credit to the school throughout the visit.🪰

Well done to our 12 Year 4 students , who last week represented Kinsale Junior School at the Summer of Football event, that was held at The Nest. The team played against 8 other schools in friendly matches and also competed in the football themes quiz over the lunch time. ⚽
Team morale was outstanding and everyone supported each other when cheering from the sidelines. We are so proud of you all!

🌟 Huge smiles and proud moments at Kinsale Junior School this week 🌟

Mr Osborn hosted our celebratory assembly this afternoon, shining a spotlight on our star of the week students. From academic achievements to acts of kindness, it was wonderful to see so many children recognised for going above and beyond.

A massive well done to all of our certificate winners this week and for the TTRS cetificate winners too. Well done to Mary Anning house on the huge number of positive class chart points. The whole school have shown a real increase in positive class charts points this week - Keep up the fantastic effort, KJS pupils.
