📕🖊️Maths and English Camp

Thirteen Year 11 girls, alongside Ms Burton, Ms Eyles and Ms Wiltshire, enjoyed a weekend 'Maths and English Camp' in the Norfolk countryside.

Our hosts generously opened their home to house our curriculum sessions and an overnight stay. Ms Burton led on Algebraic Expressions, Fractions, Ratio and Proportion, and Shape, whilst Ms Eyles led pupils through English Language Paper 2 revision. 🏡

In addition to the 8 hours of curriculum sessions, we had time for some board games, delicious homemade food, countryside walks and a visit to the Anglo-Saxon Church. ⛪

We were so proud of our pupils, who gave up a weekend to get the very best possible grade in English and Maths.

Many thanks 🙏 go to our hosts in Moulton St Mary and the Trust for allowing us this opportunity.

* Attendance * ⏰

As we enter the final stretch of the school year, we want to remind all families . . .

Every day in school matters.

Attendance isn’t just about being in the building – it builds knowledge, confidence, friendships and a sense of belonging. Each lesson links to the next, and even a small number of absences can make it harder for pupils to keep up.

What does the research say?

Pupils with 95%+ attendance are nearly twice as likely to achieve a Grade 5 in English and Maths GCSE compared to those with lower attendance.

Pupils who are persistently absent (missing 10% or more) are less than half as likely to achieve strong GCSE outcomes.

Even short periods of absence matter. Missing just 10 days of school across a year can halve the likelihood of achieving key GCSE passes.

Over time, these missed opportunities don’t just affect grades - they can impact confidence, friendships and even future life chances.

Every day in school = more opportunity to succeed. 🙂
