Our Year 7s had a lovely morning during their gardening intervention, where they spent time harvesting herbs and learning how to prepare their own herbal tea. They carefully selected and combined different ingredients before making the tea, which they delivered to members of staff around the school. It was a fantastic opportunity for them to develop practical skills, teamwork, and confidence while spreading a little kindness. ðŦâïļðŠī

Five students from Hewett Academy and one student from Jane Austen College represented Norfolk at the Regional
Chance to Shine Street Cricket competition in Thurrock today. ð
Despite the long journey, the boys got off to a fantastic start beating both Herts Cricket sides, before a closely contested victory against an East London team! ð
With three wins each, this set up a deciding final match versus Cricket East! The boys batted and bowled valiantly against a strong, experienced team; however, they came up short and had to settle for proud runners-up! ðĨ
A massive thank you to Aaron Seekings from
Norfolk Cricket Foundation for accompanying the trip and given guidance to the team throughout the day! ð

Last Saturday fourteen students who have demonstrate excellent commitment and passion for rugby in PE lessons and at after school club throughout the year, were taken on a reward trip to see Leicester Tigers vs Northampton Saints, in a heated derby match!
Leicester Tigers is the nearest Gallagher Premiership Rugby club to Hewett Academy and many a player from Norfolk has come through their development player pathway represent the club and England!
The match itself got offer to an electric start with a try for both teams before Leicester made their dominance count. It was very pleasing to see players from Norfolk at the heart of things for the Tigers, with Freddie Steward going over for a try and Jack van Poortvliet pulling the strings in the Number 9 position. The scoreline finished a crushing 41-17 to Leicester Tigers!
Following the game, players from both teams walked around the pitch which enable our students to get selfies and autographs with several international players and role models. A truly memorable experience.
A massive thank you to Mr Nutt and Ben Marshall, our resident Rugby Coach from Crusaders for giving up their Saturday to accompany the trip.

Centre Parcs, Q Hotels, The Shoebox Enterprises, the Royal Navy, the Royal Fleet Auxiliary, City College Norwich and the College of West Anglia.
They all have opportunities to study or work in catering, hospitality or tourism and our Year 10 students had a great time talking to them in the beautiful setting of Dunston Hall.
