Year 4 had such a fantastic trip to the farm. The children enjoyed the landscape, had a close up look at the cattle, looked at what lives in the soil, made flour from wheat and sat in the tractor. Here are a few photos from our day. A big thank you to all our helpers.

We had such an amazing day in Year 2 celebrating World Book Day! It was wonderful to hear the children talk so enthusiastically about their favourite reading spaces and all the different ways they enjoy reading for pleasure.
The costumes were fantastic too—everyone made such a brilliant effort, and the classroom was full of colourful characters from so many well‑loved stories. The children were so proud to share who they came as!
Thank you for helping to make the day so special.

The week before half term was Children's Mental Health Week. As part of this week, all children took part in Well-Being Wednesday. The theme was 'This Is My Place' and focussed on the importance of belonging for emotional well-being. Some children created a personal map, others created mosaic squares that represented themselves and one year group created a class tree to show they belong to the same class. All children updated their 'Trusted Adult in School' hands to remind them who they can speak to if they are feeling worried about anything.

In year 4 the children have been working hard in all areas of their learning. They have planned and written their own stories based on Charlie Mackesy's The Boy, the Mole, the Fox and the Horse. In maths they have been learning about fractions, building fraction walls and looking at equivalent fractions, 2/4 = 1/2. In Geography they have been identifying different parts of the world where food is grown and the impact food production can have. In science the children are learning about living things and their habitats, recapping their prior learning about vertebrates and invertebrates, classifying animals into different groups. In French the children have been learning more about numbers and months. In art the children have been exploring still life and have sketched tulips.

January Highlights
Year 3 have been working really hard in January. In maths, they have been identifying the relationship between multiplication and division and recognising the inverse relationship. They have used arrays to support their learning. In art, they have been learning about Henri Matisse and used his method of paper cut outs to create a piece of art. Well done everyone!
