Just wow.

Received my medication review paperwork to find my NHS ADHD clinic has moved location. To the LEAST ACCESSIBLE NHS building in Norwich.

• No parking. Old building.
• Used to have on site parking and fully wheelchair accessible.

This is going to make it really difficult for ADHDers in Norwich to attend.

The study proposes that emotional dysregulation in many neurodivergent people (Autism ADHD + ♾️ ) can be linked to joint hypermobility through the body's feedback system called proprioception. It explains that hypermobility send less reliable proprioceptive signals to the brain making it harder to accurately sense body position and internal states like (muscle cramps, tension or limp weak muscles)
Sense of joint position and stability ( feeling wobbly, unsteady not together).
The body energy level not knowing if (tired, wired, keyed up, sluggish).
Physical arousal linked to emotion (racing heart, shaky, fidgety, restless, heavy or light body).
Body comfort versus discomfort (achy, stiff, floppy, feeling discombobulated physically)

The paper’s idea is that if these body signals are noisy or unreliable because of joint hypermobility, the brain may have a harder time reading them and using them to understand and regulate emotions.

This sensory confusion can blur the boundaries between physical and emotional feelings, leading to heightened emotional reactivity, poor emotional regulation and anxiety. The model ties together biological factors in connective tissue, sensory processing mechanisms and neurodevelopmental traits to explain why emotional challenges and hypermobility often co-occur.

For years, scientists suspected that ADHD was rooted in the brain’s structure—but now, they finally have proof. Using a groundbreaking method to eliminate technical distortions from brain scans, researchers in Japan have found clear evidence that children with ADHD have smaller brain volumes in regions tied to focus, emotion, decision-making, and memory. These differences had been masked for decades by inconsistent imaging equipment across hospitals, but by scanning the same individuals on multiple machines and removing the “scanner noise,” the researchers revealed patterns that had been hiding in plain sight. The result is a striking confirmation: ADHD brains truly are wired differently.

This discovery doesn’t just deepen our understanding—it could revolutionize how ADHD is diagnosed and treated. With clearer biological markers, doctors may one day identify ADHD earlier and tailor interventions to each person’s unique brain profile. It also challenges outdated misconceptions that ADHD is a matter of willpower or discipline. Instead, the findings highlight how differences in brain structure shape attention, memory, and emotional regulation, creating the distinct challenges—and strengths—of the ADHD mind.

Another line of research adds a fascinating layer to this picture. Studies show that people with ADHD experience boredom more intensely, not because they’re lazy, but because their brains struggle to maintain engagement when working memory falters. Psychologist John Eastwood, who helped develop the Cognitive Theory of Boredom, describes boredom as a signal—a message from the brain that it craves meaning or control. For those with ADHD, learning to manage that signal through mindfulness, curiosity, or gamified routines may be far more effective than fighting it. In other words, understanding boredom may unlock one of the most powerful keys to thriving with ADHD.

This is what I talk about when I say disabled people need to be thought about at the PLANNING STAGE. A brand new artists quarter in Norwich made from shipping containers. Not a single ramp in sight.

It’s 2025 peoples. The equality act is clear. This is direct discrimination.

Amazing news!!!

Finally it’ll be included in health checks in your 40’s. Doctors will HAVE to educate themselves more.

What a win.

Questions about the menopause will be included in NHS health checks for the first time, officials have announced, in a move that could benefit millions of women in England.

Health Secretary Wes Streeting said women have been "suffering in silence for too long" and the update will give those experiencing symptoms such as hot flushes, mood swings and trouble sleeping "visibility and support".

We often receive 999 calls where the call handler is met with silence 🤫

Often these are from pocket dials or hoax calls, but sometimes there's more than meets the eye... 🧐

Like last week when we received a silent 999 call, where a faint breathing sound could be heard down the line. 👂

After trying to engage with the caller, it was clear that they couldn't, or didn't feel safe to talk. The operator asked the caller to press 55 on their keypad if they needed help but were unable to speak... and immediately, they did. 🙏

Through taps on the caller's phone's keypad, the call handler was able to decipher that the caller was in danger, and was hurt as a result of domestic violence. They also found out where they were, and that the suspect was still nearby - which is why they didn't feel safe to talk 🤫

The caller didn't have to say a word, but was able to communicate with police in silence through timed taps on their keypad. Officers were immediately dispatched to the caller, who received the help they needed. 🚔

Even if you can't talk - we can help you. If you're in danger but can't speak openly, still call us on 999 - just press 55 on the keypad when prompted by the operator. Always try to speak to the operator if you can, even by whispering. If it's not safe to, you may also be asked to cough or tap the keys on your phone to answer questions. 📱
