Years 7 and 9 recently welcomed San Quentin into school for a Relationships, Health & Wellbeing enrichment event to promote key messaging relating to the negative impact of drug use on young people's physical, social and mental health.

With the aid of some excellent songs, San Quentin shared some poignant life lessons relating to their own negative experiences of drug use. Both the music and the messaging went down a treat with pupils and judging by the 'after-gig' meet and greet sessions, Thank you 🎤

Calling all students... share your talents!

We welcomed Burnley FC’s Head of Nutrition, Ellie Saunders into school today. Ellie spoke to our Year 10 & 11 GCSE PE students about her role and responsibilities looking after a premiership football team. Ellie also looks after the junior academy and womens squad. Ellie spoke in depth about her job, linking it to the current PE curriculum and we hope the students were inspired to follow in her footsteps and maybe consider a career in this area!

This term STEM club are making the most of the summer weather and are doing an Ecology project. The whole school site is going to be becoming part of The National Education Nature Park. This is a growing network of nurseries, schools and colleges working together for nature. Their combined footprint is approaching the area of Birmingham so can really make a difference in terms of increasing biodiversity. 🌱🦋
