A gentle check-in this Wednesday. 🌅

Can you find a word that fits or do you have your own?
“Feeling Overwhelmed” looks different for everyone. For some it’s a racing heart. For others it’s static, fog, or a tiredness that doesn’t lift even after rest. Sometimes it’s the feeling of being too much and too small at the same time.

There’s no right answer here.
No need to explain.
No pressure to share if today isn’t the day.
But if it feels okay — what’s one word that fits how you’ve felt this week?

I’ll be reading every reply with kindness.
Sometimes naming it, even quietly, is the first soft step.

🪷🪷🪷Self-compassion isn’t self-indulgent.
It’s the steady voice inside that helps you keep going.🪷🪷🪷

If you’re someone who’s hard on yourself, you might know the familiar script:
“I should be coping better.”
“Why can’t I just get on with it?”
“I’ve made a mess of this.”

From the inside, it can feel like you’re trying to motivate yourself with criticism — but it often leaves you feeling smaller, more anxious, and more alone.

Self-compassion is the practice of speaking to yourself the way you’d speak to someone you care about. Not pretending everything’s fine. Not letting yourself off the hook. Just adding warmth and fairness to the picture.

Everyday examples might look like:
• Not replaying a conversation for hours because you ‘said the wrong thing’
• Letting one mistake be one mistake — not proof you’re failing
• Taking a breather when you’re overwhelmed, rather than pushing through on fumes
• Noticing the effort you’re making, even if the outcome isn’t perfect
In counselling, we can gently explore where that harsh inner voice came from, what it’s trying to protect you from, and how to build a kinder, steadier way of relating to yourself — especially when life is stressful.

If you were to talk to yourself like you’d talk to a friend this week, what might you say differently?

🌅 Global Wellness Day 2026 🌅

Today, millions of people across the world come together to celebrate the small, everyday choices that support our wellbeing.

This year’s theme, , reminds us that joy is not always found in the big moments. Sometimes it is found in a morning walk, a shared laugh, a kind conversation, a deep breath, or simply allowing ourselves to slow down.

As a counsellor, I often see people who have spent so long looking after everyone else that they have forgotten to pause and ask:

“What do I need today?”

Wellness does not need to be complicated. It can start with one small choice.

🌿 A walk outside
💧 A glass of water
💚 An act of kindness
😂 A moment of laughter
🌙 An early night

Which one will you choose today?

I’d love to hear your answer in the comments 👇

Please share this with someone who might need a gentle reminder to take care of themselves today.

🌅 SUNDAY MORNING REFLECTION 🌅

As Sunday unfolds, perhaps this is an opportunity to pause for a moment before the week ahead begins.

Take a gentle look back over the last seven days.

✨ What went well?

✨ What challenged you?

✨ What did you learn about yourself?

✨ What are you grateful for today?

It’s easy to focus on what didn’t get done, the mistakes we made, or the things we wish had gone differently.

But growth often happens quietly.

In the moments you kept going.
In the conversations you had.
In the boundaries you set.
In the rest you allowed yourself.
In the kindness you showed yourself or someone else.

As you look towards the week ahead, rather than creating a long list of things you “should” do, consider choosing one simple intention.

💙 To be kinder to myself.

💙 To slow down when I need to.

💙 To ask for help.

💙 To spend more time with people who matter.

💙 To make space for rest.

💙 To trust myself a little more.

A new week doesn’t require a new version of you.

Just the next step.

🌅 Reflection Question

What is one thing you are grateful for from this week, and what intention are you taking into the week ahead?
