β¨ Survived a challenging week
β¨ Made it to a class
β¨ Drank more water
β¨ Got the washing basket emptied
β¨ Kept a tiny human alive
And on a scale of:
π Fresh and fabulous
π΄ Running on caffeine and determination

β¨ You don't have to move fast. You just have to move. β¨
In a world that celebrates hustle, it's easy to feel like every workout needs to be intense, sweaty, and all-out.
But movement doesn't have to be fast to be effective.
Sometimes the most powerful thing you can do is slow down. Stretch. Breathe. Reconnect with your body. Give yourself permission to move gently and without pressure.
Every stretch, every deep breath, every small movement counts.
πΏ Improve flexibility
πΏ Release tension and stress
πΏ Support recovery and wellbeing
πΏ Create a little calm in a busy week
Remember, progress isn't always about speed. Sometimes it's simply about showing up and taking that first step.
Join us for Stretch & Chill and give your body and mind the space they deserve. π

π WHAT IS SALSA? πΊ
Salsa is much more than just a dance β itβs a vibrant blend of music, culture, rhythm, and self-expression.
While Salsa has strong roots in Cuba, the music and dance evolved through the influences of many Latin cultures, including Puerto Rico. Around the time of World War II, the music travelled to cities such as Mexico City and New York, where the term "Salsa" was later coined.
One of the reasons Salsa remains so popular is that it is constantly evolving. The music encourages creativity and improvisation, allowing dancers to add their own personality and flair.
There are six main styles of Salsa:
β¨ LA Style
β¨ New York Style
β¨ Colombian Style
β¨ Puerto Rican Style
β¨ Cuban (Casino) Style
β¨ Rueda de Miami
Each style has its own unique characteristics, including timing, footwork patterns, body movement, turns, partner work, attitude, and cultural influences.
Salsa is typically danced to an 8-count rhythm, with steps on beats 1, 2, 3, a pause (or tap) on 4, then continuing on 5, 6, 7 with another pause on 8. Even during the pauses, the body continues to move, creating the smooth, flowing motion that gives Salsa its unmistakable energy and style.
And while traditional Salsa has its own distinctive look and feel, modern dancers often incorporate influences from other dance styles. Here at SOSA Dance Fitness, we love adding a little extra sparkle β and yes, that often includes a fabulous shimmy or two! πβ¨
