We are aware of schools in central and southern England closing where the temperatures are hotter than here.
At the moment we are continuing to open as usual, however we are regularly reviewing the situation and liaising with other schools locally alongside the local authority to determine any additional steps that need to be made.

Last week at the Cheshire Show, our amazing Year 9 students continued running our award-winning stand, welcoming numerous guests throughout the day!
Meanwhile, our musical groups took centre stage, with the orchestra, Year 9 band, and Worship Band performing a fantastic, wide repertoire of music. To top it all off, the Barton Community Primary School choir joined us for a brilliant collaborative rendition of 'Happy'.

Due to unprecedented demand our Headteacher tours this week are fully booked. However, don't worry if you'd still like to do a tour. The Headteacher will be running tours of the school again daily (Monday to Friday) between 9:30am and 11am, from Monday 14th September until Friday 23rd October 2026. Please email [email protected] to reserve your place.
Given the weather forecast, students are welcome to wear their PE kit all week. If they choose not to, then of course they can wear full uniform instead – however, they do not have to wear their blazer.
Students may need sun protection, especially if doing sport outside. Please also ensure a water bottle is packed, with stations to refill available in both canteens at break and lunchtime.
As a reminder, PE kit socks should be navy for Years 7 and 8, and navy or white for Years 9 and 10. Ankle socks are perfectly fine, students do not need to wear thick sports socks if they prefer not to.

We are delighted to announce that, for the second consecutive year, our school has been recognised in the Schools Out Tent at the Royal Cheshire County Show, receiving the Outstanding Display Rosette.
A huge congratulations and thank you to Mrs Carnell, Ms Roberts, and our Year 9 students, whose creativity and hard work impressed the judges with a vibrant and engaging display based on this year’s Commonwealth Games theme.
If you are visiting the Cheshire Show tomorrow, be sure to stop by our award-winning stall and support our talented Orchestra, who will be performing at the Bandstand at 10:50am.
Well done to everyone involved on this fantastic achievement!

Today, twelve of our Year 9 students were at Liverpool Hope University for a technology challenge day hosted by MCS Projects Ltd - Science and Technology. It was a fantastic day out with a series of challenges where our students worked together with students from other schools across the North West. The students represented our school wonderfully, and the day was made even better by having a winning team, who were presented with their award by Dr Nicholas M Jedynakiewicz DL, Deputy Lieutenant of Merseyside. Superb effort everyone!
