Nature Tots is a Montersorri/Hygge inspired, term-time only childminding setting for children aged 0–4 years.
We offer a calm, nurturing home-from-home environment with regular Forest School sessions where children thrive 🌿💚 Hi I'm Jen, Nature Tots provides Term Time Only Childcare and Education in a homely, warm, welcoming and inspiring loving family environment from birth to 5 years of age. We follow a range of approaches including Montessori and Hygge. Nature Tots opened in 2012 and is based within a q
uite Cul-de-sac opposite a pond and within easy walking distance of Play Parks and Nature Walks. Located in Kingsmead, Northwich we have 3 children and the setting benefits from being shared with 2 friendly cats and 2 calm well natured Labradors.
With in the setting children benefit from our whole ground floor space, consisting of a dedicated playroom and spacious lounge, quite area, large kitchen (which we use for messy play, arts and crafts and baking), and a large garden, all of which are full of carefully planned resources and open ended invitations to play with a Montessori and Hygge inspired approach. As well as spending time at my setting, we also spend a lot of time learning outdoors, our garden, nature walks, woodlands, country parks and forest school provide our rich learning environment. Focusing on children’s wellbeing is fundamental for their development and continuing progress. A calming atmosphere allows for increased engagement and focus on their own interests in play, and promoting self-confidence and peaceful play helps to children to manage emotions. Sensory play is an important part of learning for young children, as through their senses they make sense of the world around them and begin to explore naturally. A calm but stimulating environment both indoors and outdoors is vital to ensure that this area of learning is maximised to its full potential. I have a very flexible, child-centred approach in the planning of our daily activities depending on the children's needs and interests. The setting also benefits from a lovely Network of local Childminders and their Children. Whilst my setting is small, having a good, strong and secure network of local Childminders means that the children in my care are able to meet and mix with a wide variety of children to form bonds and friendships with. Within this network we come together, to provide Enrichment Activities and Outings. You get so much back from children whilst you are working with them and it is an honour to watch a child grow and develop and to help them on their way to achieving their full potential. I feel it’s a privilege to look after other people’s children because they’re so precious. Many of my resources are either in reach or sight for children to self select and I do lots of teaching, through carefully planned open ended invitations to play, which inspire imaginations, encourage new experiences and encompass current interests and next steps of each individual child. I have an Ofsted rating of Good (last inspection was January 2023) and I work in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). Should you be looking for a flexible approach to childcare, then Childminding could be a good option for you. Children still receive all of the educational and development benefits of the EYFS curriculum that Nursery’s offer, but in a more personal home from home environment and with the benefit of getting out and about into the natural world and local community. ✨🎄 Festive Adventure at the Garden Centre! 🎄✨
This week we visited our local garden centre to soak up the Christmas magic — and the children were mesmerised! From sparkling trees to moving winter villages, there was wonder around every corner. ❄️✨
What made it even sweeter was how other customers stopped to chat, point things out, and share in the children’s excitement. So many smiles, so many lovely interactions — pure Christmas spirit. 🤍
Little moments like these help us learn, connect, and experience the world together. 🌟
