A New Chapter for Mr Solan

The final box is taped, his desk is clear,
He’s packed away the stickers and the glue.
He led the teams to victory over the years,
And leaves a legacy in PE, too!

His random stories made the classroom bright,
His funny jokes will long be left behind.
He walks out one last time into the light,
To start the new career he has aligned.

So thank you for the memories you made,
Keep dreaming big, and let your spirits soar.
Though Mr. Solan’s teaching days here will fade,
He will be well remembered evermore!

I would like to thank each and everyone of you for your kind words, messages, cards and gifts. They really are appreciated. I’ve been totally overwhelmed today by the generosity and thoughtfulness from so many people.
I’m honoured to have been part of Charles Darwin for 23 years and had the pleasure of welcoming over 1000 children into their 1st year of school. I’m so proud of each and every one of the children I’ve had the pleasure to spend time with and to those who haven’t always found school life easy, I’m immensely proud of the effort you put into facing a day that can often be challenging.
My next chapter will be supporting and advocating for those who need it most but I’ll never forget the children, families and friends I have made over the years. I don’t just take wonderful memories from my 23 years at Charles Darwin but I also take Mrs Sharp who is my rock and my world and I wouldn’t have met her if it wasn’t for Charles Darwin, for that I will be eternally grateful.

Well done to the children in Year 4 NW for achieving an arts award from Trinity College London. After our visit to Clonter theatre, the class completed extra tasks at school towards the award.
