Lots of rainy activities these last few weeks as we start June.
Who doesnt love puddles though? And watching the rain make patterns in the pond!
When the rain got too bad, we've baked some Gingerbread men after reading the story, and explored paints in many forms.

We've started to explore the World Cup, with football skills and looking at flags from other countries.

But there is no better way to play out in the wet weather than playing with friends !

Our explorers have loved watching our caterpillars grow and change into their chrysalis and then the ultimate excitement when we noticed butterflies appear!

We all decided we wouldn't like to taste with our feet like butterflies do!

April in 30 seconds!

A month of slight change at Hayley's Happy Explorers with having no car, so lots more walking to explore the local parks and lots more fun in the garden.

We have explored Earth Day, the explorers have become confident in tackling bigger challenges at the park. Our younger explorers are getting very vocal with their animal noises.
Our road safety knowledge is coming on really well and we have been loving the dry days. We have been reading outside in the sunshine and even doing our craft as well as exploring pur new tyres and outdoor equipment. ❤️

Being without a car as a childminder is meaning lots of lovely walks, and lots more time playing in the garden 🌼 🌸 🌻

This week with the amazing weather the children have explored compost and bulbs, planting their own sunflowers, and the older ones have role played garden centres.
We have researched Earth Day, going on Scavenger hunts, from discussing recycling, to looking for the tiniest mini beasts and creating our own earth pictures.
We have had lovely chats on our way to the local parks- a skip blocked our path so learned all how they transport skips and what we could fill a skip with.
The children are learning to stop, wait, look,listen and look again before crossing the road. And we are noticing such lovely flowers and plants in people's gardens.
Our youngest explorers are listening out for birds tweeting, and noticing the aeroplanes going overhead, as well as pointing to the dogs we see on our travels.

Happy Earth Day 🌎
we have today: Been on a Scavenger Hunt, spotting everything from tiny ants to fluffy clouds;
We walked to the park and made nature bracelets using masking tape to collect daisies and dandelions;
We planted our sunflower seedlings; We talked about the very important jobs bees do and discussed what we love honey on!
We had discussions on what we recycle and which bins each recycling goes in; We've explored compost by digging, role playing being gardeners.

The 2nd week of the Easter holidays. Still some of our friends off on their holidays so quieter days!

I have been so impressed at the confidence our explorers have shown at the park this week, reaching higher heights when climbing, and wanting to try more, and succeeding.

We've enjoyed garden games like skittles and the explorers and been working out how to make their own obstacle courses.

Whilst out walking we have been tackling road safety and making tallies of how many dogs, trains and even snails we see on our travels.

Our youngest explorers have been working hard on their new skills, standing independently and even one or two steps now too! Exciting times !

Looking forward to welcoming all our friends back next week.

Sending so much luck to all my families today on School Offer Day. I know how emotional this milestone feels for parents.

Watching my Explorers grow from toddlers into school starters is an absolute privilege. I’m looking forward to spending the next term getting them geared up for the next chapter (and cherishing every second 🥰)
