GMR Tutoring

As the 2025 the year starts, I wanted to introduce myself and you know that I am now accepting students for this academic year. Not only this, but I have recently undertaken training for entry level exams for Year 6 pupils! As such, I have 5 available spaces for September Start and wanted to share things about myself if you're wondering if I am the tutor for you!

I am Head of KS3 English in my current school in which I have crafted a curriculum that pushes students, I am also one of three AQA examiners for my school for the Literature GCSE.

I have a 1st Class Degree in English and History from Chester, alongside a MA in History. I am currently undergoing a PhD in Medieval Literature with the University of Durham and hope to show my students that no matter your background you can dream big!

I have a passion for teaching and firmly believe that every child deserves the chance to thrive in Education.✍️

A fun fact: I gave a TedTalk in 2015 - because I had an English teacher who believed in me 🥰. Since, I have gone on to deliver full talks at conferences such as The International Medieval Conference at Leeds University and The Garden Research Symposium.

We have a number of evening slots available on a Tuesday and Wednesday evening for English GCSE tuition and Undergraduate students!

Tuesday slots: 4:30pm-5:20pm/ 5:30pm-6:20pm

Wednesday slots: 4:15pm-5:05pm- 5:15pm-6:05pm

Information for parents below:

Due to my limited availability, sessions have all been moved online in order for me to accept more students. The platform used is Zoom, and I make full use of screen share, interactive presentations and boards, for the full lesson experience. Marking has also been moved online, any essays or work can be emailed to myself and you will have a feedback return document sent to you after our session.

Prices have inflated due to the level of experience I have acquired! Now I have completed my 2nd year of PhD study, I am also eligible to advise and proofread undergraduate students. Alongside this, with the near completion my QTS, I am able to take on further students.

Congratulations to all of my GCSE & A-Level students who passed with flying colours ✨ You have worked incredibly hard, onto bigger and better things! Good luck in the future!

Tutoring resumes from 10th January!

Currently booked up until the 8th of November, with limited availability until the 11th.
The only times available currently are:

8th November - 4.30PM-5:30PM
10th November - 5:00PM-6:00PM

I am currently accepting bookings from 15th November between 4:30PM-7:30PM. Please remember with GCSE mocks around the corner I am struggling to fit in everyone, but I will do my best to squeeze as many in as possible!

New students £12 for first session, then £15 after.
Discount for group bookings.
