Plenty of sport today … the boys switched between pole @ 8m (pinkies fed in ground bait with maggot on the hook) & Feeder mid river with casters and chopped wood (small worm head tipped with red maggot on the hook).
Lots of perch and pike chasing in the small fish they were catching on pole - managed to get one pike in 💪🏻.
Thunder, hail and lightening stopped play - just as I was demonstrating how to dot down your pole float 🤦🏻.

‘A BITE A CHUCK’ !
None stop action on the ‘boats’ section of the river Weaver for Marley and Caleb.
Having got to grips with ‘whip to hand’ fishing on a still water. We moved to a deeper water swim using take a part poles.
Both lads did really well putting together a respectable mixed weight bag of fish with no tangles or dramas all day - apart from the big one that got away !!.

Half day angling taster session for 13 year olds Marley & Caleb… Making a change from playing Minecraft at home 😂
Caleb just about caught the most with Marley landing the biggest fish of the day.💪🏻🎣
The fish weren’t quite as obliging today … and the weather turned on us and we all had a soaking…. but it didn’t damped the boys spirits.. two very polite, engaged lads who were interested in the bird / wildlife around us and asked lots of fishing related questions….a pleasure to coach.

Lots of sport on the 4.5m whip @ Little Billinge today… my margin perch line threw up a surprise tench - interesting on a flick-tip !.
(Have to add landing fish whilst holding a phone to my coaching skill set 😂)
The place is alive with fish… and despite the warm conditions, it’s easy angling if anyone is thinking of getting out with the kids etc .
Nothing fancy tackle wise, small dibber fished shallow with spread out shot, fine wire 18s to 0.12 rig line - no ground bait etc, just loose fed red maggots 👍🎣.

‘RUDDY MARVELLOUS’
Short but sweet morning coaching session brought plenty of action today.
Slow at the start… with few fish showing on the deck…but a change to the shallow rig and loose feeding regularly and often kept the bites coming.
Water very warm from yesterdays ☀️… Dawn / Dusk would have brought better sport but a few very enjoyable hours never the less.
A few lovely Rudd in the mix which is nice to see.

Pleasant morning on the village pond using up some leftover bait.
lots of bites with caster sorting out the better fish…..That was until a lovely wild looking common carp took a single red maggot toward the end of the session 😳😳 and look at those paddles, you can imagine how long it took to persuade her to come quietly ! 💪🏻🎣.
Sometimes, you just never know what’s coming next…. that’s the beauty of angling 😄.

‘TENCH WARFARE’ !
Enjoyable half day session with Malcolm…(you can tell he has missed a few bites in the first pic 😂)
But all came good with plenty of perch and a few nice tench landed (Rudd / Roach noticeable by their absence though 🤷🏻).
Even managed to sneak one myself - grabbing 10 mins on the box once Malcolm had left for lunch.
Great weather and I have to say a nice friendly atmosphere / banter with the other anglers on little Billinge 👍🎣.
