The children have had a lovely week, they have enjoyed the beach, flying kites, mini dribblers, Manchester airport viewing centre, playgroup annual sports day, birthday celebrations, visits from a dinosaur, and welcomed new faces as we had settle sessions for our September starters

Today we enjoyed a lovely visit to Marbury Park, where the children explored the natural environment and discovered lots of exciting things along the way. They were thrilled to find different berries growing, sparking curiosity and conversations about nature and the world around them.

The children enjoyed climbing trees, skipping with friends, running through the grass and playing hide and seek, all of which supported their gross motor skills, balance, coordination and teamwork. They also used their imaginations by pretending to be characters from their favourite books, developing their creativity, communication and social skills.

During our walk, we read stories together and spotted a tractor, squirrels and dogs, encouraging observation, language development and an interest in the world around us.

Back at the setting, the children enjoyed free play, following their own interests. The older children chose to draw and practise tracing letters, developing their early writing skills, pen and pencil control and letter recognition, while the younger children explored magnets, investigating how they worked and developing their curiosity and problem-solving skills.

Everyone also had lots of fun building with Mega Bloks, creating castles and farm animals together. This encouraged teamwork, imagination, fine motor development and spatial awareness.

We finished the day with a lively afternoon song time, where the children enjoyed singing familiar songs, joining in with actions and developing their communication, listening skills, memory and confidence.

It was a wonderful end to the week, full of outdoor adventure, creativity, exploration and learning through play. 😊

Thursday the children started the morning by making bracelets, carefully measuring their wrists choosing their favourite colours to create their own unique designs. This activity supported their fine motor skills, concentration and creativity, while encouraging decision-making and self-expression.

We then attended our playgroup end-of-term party. Although we’ll still be attending over the summer, there will be fewer children as many of the lovely childminding settings have now closed for the holidays. The children had a fantastic time exploring the bouncy castle and slide, developing their gross motor skills, balance, coordination and confidence through active play.

Everyone enjoyed playing ‘What’s the Time, Mr Wolf?’, which encouraged listening skills, turn-taking, following instructions and physical development.

One of the highlights of the day was watching the older children confidently stand in front of the group to say their name and share a special talent. It was such a lovely moment and a wonderful way to build self-confidence, communication skills, self-esteem and resilience especially before they head off to school! We were so proud of them! ❤️

Back at the setting, the children enjoyed free play, exploring their own interests, making independent choices and developing their imagination, social skills and friendships through child-led play.

Another fun-filled day of learning, laughter and confidence building! 😊

On Tuesday a couple of the children enjoyed their last ever Jo Jingles session with us. It was football party themed, and they had a fantastic time singing, dancing and joining in with musical activities. Jo jingles sessions are a fantastic way to support the children’s communication and language, listening skills, coordination, confidence and social development.

We enjoyed song time, mark making, role play, puppets, car races, ball rolling and balancing games, followed by a soft play party with a foam disco to celebrate my daughter’s birthday.
