What a wonderful party to end the term! Merry Christmas!
Year 6 went home with some friends this afternoon!
Reception have had so much fun over the past couple of weeks. They enjoyed a yummy Christmas dinner, danced at the silent disco, had a Christmas Y6 buddy day and performed an amazing nativity! Well done reception and Merry Christmas!
Mrs Proctor and Mr Marland were so proud of the Year 1 and 2 children for putting on a wonderful show, A Magical Christmas Journey. Well done, everyone!
Year 2 enjoyed creating their moving Christmas cards!

Years 5 and 6 are having a blast at their silent disco! 🕺🪩🎄
Year 4 were very excited to have a zoom call with the author of Escape from Pompeii ‘Christina Balit’. We thoroughly enjoyed asking her questions and finding out the process that she goes through when making a book! Thank you !

Year 3 have completed their final cyanotype pieces in Art. We think they look really effective!
Some of the wonderful RE work produced by Year 4 this half term!
Year 5 have been finalising their monotype prints based on our English writing book, The Promise.
Year 1 collected sticks, which were smoothened by Mr. Andy. The children then threaded bells around a pipe cleaner and then wrapped the pipe cleaner around their stick in order to make a musical instrument. They then played their instruments whilst singing Christmas songs.
Year 3 have completed their sponsored elf run this morning to raise money for St Luke’s Hospice! ❄️
Lots of Christmas preparation underway in Year 2!
Year 1 collected sticks in the forest that would be suitable for the insect bug hotel during the winter period. They placed all the sticks into the bug hotel named Bugingham Palace. The children learnt that making a suitable home for the insects during winter would help them thrive.
We’ve been exploring and sketching details of natural objects this morning in Y3. We really enjoyed using willow charcoal as a new drawing material. We’re ready to make our cyanotype compositions now!
Year 4 have began making their night lights in D&T. We looked closely at the best net to use for our 3D product and began to transfer our designs onto them!
After lots of planning and editing, Year 2 have written their letters to the giant. Such wonderful work!
Year 5 began planning their scientific experiment by investigating air resistance through parachute building.
Year 2 amazed me with their resilience yesterday! It was one of the first times they had explored adding 2 digits and a 1 digit crossing 10. They all gave it such a good go! Well done, Year 2!
Year 2 explored David Attenborough’s time at university & how he started his early career. We enjoyed watching some of his early television programmes such as ‘Zoo Quest’ & ‘Wildlife on One’. They were fascinated by the difference in the programmes they watch today!
Year 5 have been busy searching for where some of our popular food items are imported from.
Finding lines of symmetry in different shapes that we have learnt in Year 4 this week!
Year 3 have begun their exploration of their new artist, Anna Atkins. They thoroughly enjoyed exploring different media this afternoon to create their visual notes
Year 1 became more familiar with the leaves that are in our area. They noticed that they do not all share the same shape, size and colour. They also discovered that some leaves are still green despite it being Autumn. They learnt that these leaves were from evergreen trees. They were also taught more about fungus and where they would find it.
Reception have really enjoyed learning about our new class text ‘Supertato’ this week. We have made our own Supertato characters, created story maps and retold the story using puppets.
The Year 1 had such a lovely time learning how to make a pizza at Pizza Express. They later had their pizzas for their lunch.
Y3 have been maths superstars this morning! Miss R-G is so impressed with their adding of two 3-digit numbers with exchanges!
The Year 2 children have thoroughly enjoyed Jack and the Baked Beanstalk. We are all ready to write our letters to the giant, now!
Year 5 continued their artwork by drawing a cutting out images inspired by our English book the Promise.
Year 2 thought of some great ideas for their letters to the giant. We explored reasons to go up the beanstalk to be friends with the giant and why we might not want to go. Super work, Year 2!
Year 2 have worked hard to add 2 2-digit numbers today. We used place value equipment to help us. Well done!
Y3 have started to use and understand map keys in PE. They used the key to decode their obstacle course
Year 6 have been using ‘The Day War Came’ by Nicola Davies to discuss refugees in PSHE this afternoon. We then designed our own chairs as a symbol of kindness and solidarity
We have loved learning about Supertato in Reception this week!
Year 1 were introduced to the artwork of Andy Goldsworthy, which inspired them to create their own art using natural resources.
We’ve been reminding ourselves of the components needed to make sentences in Year 3 this morning. We enjoyed playing around with sentence strips and post-it notes to create sentences about our text, the Iron Man.
