🚨SUMMER HOLIDAY CLUB DATES WILL BE RELEASED TOMORROW!🚨👩🏻‍🎨

We’ve had another week crammed with creativity in The Make & Do Den!
Working on hand building skills on ceramics, watercolour techniques working wet on wet, observational sketching, one point perspective and colour mixing and more to come!
I love the variety that each session brings!

🚨 I know that some grown ups are keen to book summer holiday club so keep your eyes peeled for the dates being released on Friday 🚨

I think it’s safe to say that clay was a popular choice this half term!
In my private sessions we covered lots of different skills and techniques all based around pottery. 🏺

What a variety! We worked on design briefs and planned our projects.

After we were happy with our results we learned about preparing clay by wedging, manipulating clay into hand built pinch pots or learning how to master the first steps on the pottery wheel.

Well done to my super sculptors! I’m looking forward to another week of creativity!

We’re looking forward to welcoming our holiday club artists again tomorrow for a bonus INSET day club! 🏫 ❌

Our theme is “All about me” (but them not me 😝) and we’ll be making self portrait folding surprises, Polaroid memory cameras and personalised selfie frames followed by a junk modelling session!

Don’t forget packed lunches 🥪 , drinks 🥤 and coats 🧥 and please park on the driveway where possible 🚗 😊

If I can book 6 children (5-11) for a 9:30-3pm “holiday” club then I’d love to help them enjoy a day of creative fun! 🎨

The fees would be the same as our usual holiday club at £37.

I was lucky enough to work with a wonderful group of young artists at Crowton Christ Church C.E Primary recently 🏫
We created a large floral frieze that embodied the schools motto “Aspire, Discover, Flourish”.
After some well thought out colour mixing and background painting from upper KS2, children worked in pairs and groups to write their aspirations for the future in the roots of the plants. We had some wonderful aims including the goals of being an eagle and being Spider-Man! 🦅

We moved on to discuss what we needed to discover in order to help us achieve our aspirations. We wrote these ideas on leaves to illustrate growth on our journeys of discovery 🍃

To celebrate our growth and represent how the children will flourish we produced beautifully vibrant flowers that explained what the children’s futures might look like once they’ve achieved their goals and flourished! 🌺 🌷 🌹

I’m really looking forward to see the piece once it’s been exhibited to their hall 😊
