Professional mathematics tutoring for GCSE and A-Level students in Duston by a recent maths graduate Contact me (Matt) for more information.

I am a recent Maths graduate from The University of Warwick, working as a tutor for GCSE and A-Level mathematics (including Further Maths A-level) students, as well as adult learners. I tutor in my home, where I have a room prepared as a classroom. Basic prices for one-to-one lessons are £25 for GCSE, £30 for A-Level. Note: We have a dog (pictured above). He is called Fang and he is very scary (not)!

Hi all
I am currently looking for work opportunities as an actuary, and because of this, I'll not be accepting any new students henceforth. I still intend to continue with all my current students for as long as they require my services, however.
Thanks,
Matthew

Mattematics is still offering online tuition via Zoom to keep students current with their studies and prepare them for their future.

Whether you just need a pass or are going for the top grades, the recent change to covid guidelines is no reason to stop doing maths!

A sudden, marked improvement can make all the difference in a teacher assessment, even if it wouldn't have quite the same impact in an exam. Now is a great time to boost your grades so that you're ready for when school restarts and your teachers start thinking about what grade to give you.

Additionally, for those who are looking to go on to A-Level or University, you will still need to keep up with your work so that you can handle the harder work in your next course. A good foundation is key to keeping up with your further studies and you cannot afford to let the limited access to education now cause you to struggle later.

My next lesson will be on Basic Algebra. It will be at 16:00 on Wednesday, as before, and tickets are available for £3.50 via Eventbrite.
The basic algebra we will be studying includes how we represent relationships using symbols, how we solve some simple examples of such relationships, and some simple examples of algebraic equivalence where two expressions have the same output for any input values.

Mattematics Arithmetic Methods 2020-07-01 28/06/2020

I'm sure most students will be somewhat familiar with things like long subtraction, multiplication and division already, but it's surprising just how many GCSE students have forgotten or misunderstood important parts of those methods.
I'll be going through them all, including covering alternate approaches and mentioning some of the common errors and misunderstandings that I've seen.
If this seems useful, book now for my lesson on Wednesday for only £3.50.

Mattematics Arithmetic Methods 2020-07-01 A zoom lesson on arithmetic methods. Targeted at early secondary school students in the UK as a refresher and to prevent common errors.

My next group Zoom lesson will be on Arithmetic Methods. I have set it up as an event on eventbrite. Hopefully doing it like this will make payment easier and ticketing easier to manage. Feel free to send me an email or messenger message if something has gone wrong and I'll try to fix it.

As mentioned before, the 1 hour duration is not exact as my focus is on covering a topic in suitable depth, rather than sticking to any particular timing. Updates and access information will be sent via eventbrite's attendee email functionality.

Thanks to everyone who joined my first group zoom lesson. Thanks also to those who shared it for getting the word out.

I'll be doing another one next week. This time I will be using an event management company to do things like payment and communication because trying to do it myself is terrifying. The cost will increase, probably to £3.50 to cover some of their "cut", but I hope this won't put too many people off. I will have something set up and posted here by the end of the day.

Just because you're an adult, doesn't mean you're too old for lessons! If you've been trying to help your kids with their maths while school's out and found you don't remember it as well as you thought you did, come along to my group lesson for a refresher.

Mattematics is doing some large group lessons via Zoom!

Each lesson will cover one topic that secondary school students need to know.
£3 per lesson for about an hour - the time is not exact as I want to focus on doing a topic justice, rather than fitting into a particular time. Some topics may take longer, some not as long.

The first lesson will be on fractions, and it will be on Wednesday 24th June at 16:00. I will cover equivalent fractions, addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. I will also spend some time at the end talking about tricks to make it easier and advanced methods.

If you are interested, please send me an email at [email protected]
