This week has been all about baking and exploring food. We have been developing our hand eye co-ordination by squeezing, rolling and mixing. Looking at numbers by counting scoops, measuring on scales and looking at money and working together to complete a task. We have had so much fun making lots of yummy treats for our MacMillan bake sale each day and a massive thankyou goes out to all the parents for taking part and donating bakes and also supporting this by donating money too!

Happy international day of play!

“Play is often talked about as if it is a relief from serious learning. But, play IS serious learning”

We are lucky enough to witness children learn through play daily, and see them develop ideas with peers becoming curious independent learners. “Play is not only our creative drive; it’s a fundamental mode of learning”

🐝 Happy World Bee Day! 🐝

Today we have been exploring the important role bees play in our world. The children enjoyed exploring honeycomb, tasting delicious honey, and discovering how busy bees work together to make it!
We also made lots of different bee artwork and took part in some bee and honey sensory play 🍯

🎈 Happy Birthday Sir David Attenborough 🎈

“If children don’t grow up knowing about nature and appreciating it, they will not understand it and if they don’t understand it, they won’t protect it. If they don’t, who will?”

The children have loved celebrating Sir David Attenborough today and looking at all the amazing things he has achieved in his life! We all discussed our favourite animals and loved our safari picnic lunch.

“No one will protect what they don’t care about, and no will care about what they have never experienced”
