Edgewood School is a residential school supporting children aged 7 - 16 with complex learning, communication and behavioural needs. We’re recruiting a Deputy Care Manager to support the Registered Manager in leading our children’s home and continuing to develop a high‑quality, child‑centred provision.

About the role:

This is a senior leadership position where you will help oversee the day‑to‑day running of the residential setting, support and guide the care team and work closely with education and therapy colleagues. You will play a key role in safeguarding, care planning, staff supervision and promoting positive, consistent practice across the home. The role offers the opportunity to contribute ideas, support staff development and ensure children’s voices are heard and respected.

We had such a lovely (busy) half term last week making memories together, including lots of different trips out. Our children and staff visited:

📍 Peak District – Fresh air, muddy boots, and lots of laughter exploring the countryside.

🌊 Brighton Beach & Pier – A day of sea air, rides, arcade games and plenty of treats by the water.

🎡 Multiple Trips to the Fair – Including bringing Mum along for the fun, plus another visit where someone won prizes and even brought doughnuts home to share with others 🍩

🍪 Baking Cookies – A cosy afternoon turning the kitchen into a delicious little bakery (and yes, they were eaten VERY quickly!).

🦁 Trip to the Zoo – A brilliant day spotting all the animals and learning new fun facts

👑 Trip to London – Finished the week with a visit to Buckingham Palace, where they all waved excitedly to the King!

So grateful for a half term packed with adventures, fresh air, fun, and lots of happy memories 💕
