🌟 working in partnership with parents is important to us 🌟

Did you know in our baby room at Hartwell nursery and pre-school, we work closely with parents to follow each babies individual routine, ensuring a smooth transition between home and nursery life.

Our caring team take the time to get to know every baby and family, creating a nurturing environment where babies can thrive while recieving the same love, care and attention they are used to at home.

♥️ Working in partnership with parents is at the heart of everything we do because when babies feel secure, they are free to grow, learn and flourish. ♥️

This morning, we enjoyed spending time outdoors in a lovely shady spot. The children listened to and shared stories together, explored the woodland environment, and enjoyed some refreshing juicy melon. 🍈
The children thoroughly enjoyed being immersed in nature, learning through play, exploration, and meaningful shared experiences. ☀️

Our babies at Hartwell nursery and pre-school have been making the most of the warm weather by enjoying some splashing fun in the paddling pool. 🌞💦

Water play is not only great fun but it also supports children's physical development, confidence, coordination and sensory exploration.
It provides wonderful opportunities for learning through play while helping little ones stay cool and comfortable in the sunshine.

What a lovely way to enjoy the summer days !🌞🌞

This week's adventure in the baby room is exploring sea animals, they enjoyed listening to the sounds sea animals make especially the whale.

We went for a mini explorers walk hunting sea animals in the puddles, making lines and random marks in the paint and loads and loads of water play. Oh what fun they had 🙂

This morning in Mini Explorers, the Oaks and saplings learned about the World Cup, discussing what it is and exploring the different countries that take part. The children enjoyed looking at a variety of flags from around the world, helping them to develop an awareness of different cultures and communities. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 🇫🇷🇩🇪

We then took our learning outdoors for a creative activity. Using footballs and paint, the children created a beautiful collaborative masterpiece by kicking the balls across a large sheet. This exciting process art activity encouraged creativity, exploration, and self-expression while also developing their gross motor skills, coordination, and control. ⚽

Afterwards, the children enjoyed a fun game of football. There was lots of laughter as they practised kicking and controlling the ball, and they especially loved aiming their kicks towards Zoe! Through this activity, the children developed their physical skills, balance, coordination, and confidence while learning to take turns, follow simple rules, and engage positively with their peers. 🏆

🌟 Baby led learning at Hartwell nursery and pre-school 🌟

In our baby room, we understand that every child learns and develops at their own pace. That's why we embrace a baby lead learning approach, following each babies individual interests, curiosity and developmental journey.

Through carefully planned environment and meaningful interactions, we observe and respond to babies cues, allowing them to explore, discover and learn in ways that are most natural and engaging for them, every experience is tailored to support their unique growth.

Last week's adventure in the baby room - nature and bug 😁

Over the last few weeks, the children have been enjoying learning all about the life cycle of a caterpillar. They have carefully observed the caterpillars grow from tiny larvae into larger caterpillars, form their cocoons (chrysalises), and finally emerge as beautiful butterflies 🦋.
Through this exciting hands-on experience, the children have developed a greater understanding of the natural world and learned about the different stages of a butterfly's life cycle. They have also discovered the importance of caring for living things, showing responsibility, patience, and kindness as they helped look after the caterpillars each day. 🐛
Alongside our observations, we have enjoyed reading stories about caterpillars and butterflies and creating some wonderful artwork inspired by their transformation. The children have shown great curiosity and enthusiasm throughout the project, asking thoughtful questions and sharing their excitement as they watched this amazing process unfold before their eyes.
