🌟 Another Wonderful Week at The Good Shepherd Catholic Primary School! 🌟

This week's Dates for the Diary have now been sent home 📅.

We've had a fantastic week filled with learning, achievement and inspiration! ⭐ Our Year 6 girls enjoyed an exciting visit to the Wonderlab event at Northampton School for Girls, where they watched live science experiments 🧪🔬 and learned about the incredible women who have made a significant impact in the world of Science 👩‍🔬. It was a truly inspiring afternoon!

🎉 Congratulations to our two pupils who have been entered into the Coombs Grand Prize Draw for a family day out. They received their individual prizes at lunchtime today 👏

📊 Our overall attendance this week was 95%. Let's work together to increase this even further! Every day in school counts. 📚🏫

🏆 A huge well done to 5J, who achieved an amazing 99% attendance this week! What a fantastic effort! 🌟👏

Looking ahead, we have a busy and exciting week with lots of school tours planned for prospective parents and families. We look forward to welcoming visitors into our school community. 😊

💚 Thank you to all our parents and carers for your continued support with our new attendance policy. Please note that absences can no longer be reported via MCAS. If your child is absent, please continue to contact the school office by email 📧 or telephone 📞.

Have a lovely weekend everyone! ✨🙏 💚💛

🍞🍅 Year 4’s Cooking Week has come to a delicious end! 🍅🍞

Today, Year 4 finished off their cooking week by making homemade bread rolls and tomato soup from scratch.

There may have been a few tears while grating the onions 🧅😂, but it was definitely worth it — the finished products had all of our mouths watering!

A fantastic end to a brilliant week of cooking, learning new skills and, of course, tasting our creations! 👩‍🍳👨‍🍳❤️

📢 Important Attendance Update for Parents and Carers

Today, we have sent home a letter outlining our new OLICAT Schools Attendance Policy 2026-27 and some important updates to our late arrival and collection procedures.

From Monday 28th September 2026, any child arriving after the gates have closed (08:55) must be signed in by a parent or carer, with a reason for lateness recorded. A slip will then be issued for entry into school.

The same process will apply to late collections at the end of the school day.

📍 Lower School (Reception - Year 3): under the Reception Class canopy
📍 Upper School (Year 4 - Year 6): On the bench near the Forest School area

These changes have been introduced to strengthen safeguarding and encourage at least 96% attendance for all our pupils.

Please take a few moments to read the letter and policy and familiarise yourself with the new procedures. Thank you for your continued support in helping us ensure every child is in school, on time, and ready to learn. 💙💛

🍕👩‍🍳 Year 4 have had their chef hats on this afternoon! 👨‍🍳🍕

We’ve had a fantastic time getting hands-on and making our very own pizzas from scratch! There was lots of kneading, rolling, topping and, of course, plenty of excitement along the way. 🍅🧀🍕

Keep your eyes peeled for tomorrow’s culinary masterpieces… we can’t wait to see (and taste!) the finished results! 😋✨
