In science today the Owls have learned about how species have evolved and the reasons why. We considered Darwin's research he carried out in the Galapagos Islands around observations of the different shaped beaks the finches have. We then tested to see whether different objects (beaks) really were easier to move different foods (sweets) and if the shape of the food was moved more easily by different shaped beaks.

In Science today the Badger class carefully pulled up some weeds so we could look at the function of roots, stems, leaves and flowers.

The Badger and Owl classes had a brilliant time at Lamport Hall and Farm. We looked at how crops grow and what foods they are used to make before enjoying a tractor trailer ride back to Lamport Hall! We milled wheat into flour and tasted apples from different countries before doing a fun nature colour hunt and woodland scavenger hunt.

Our very own Miss Laundon has been celebrated as a wonderful TA! We don’t know who nominated her - but whoever you are, you made her day! She was presented with a lovely bunch of flowers! They came with the following message:

Thank you so much for your incredibly heartfelt nomination for Miss Laundon.

Reading your words, it’s clear that Miss Laundon goes far beyond the expectations of her role and has an extraordinary impact on the children, staff, and wider school community. Her dedication to creating a safe and supportive environment for children, alongside the care and compassion she shows every day, is truly inspiring.

The commitment she has shown speaks volumes about the kind of person she is. It’s also evident how deeply valued and adored she is by the children she supports.

How lovely!
