Northamptonshire's Premier Art Society An elected group of over a hundred artists based in the county of Northamptonshire created to promote the visual arts.

Founded in 1913 and exhibiting every year since then, the Society represents the cream of Northamptonshire artists, both amateur and professional. The Society has a full programme of exhibitions and social events with an annual show offering non-members the opportunity of selection to exhibit alongside existing members.

Another one for the diary! The Shoosmith Gallery are holding a David Hockney exhibition in collaboration with Northampton Fine Art. Full details are below and on the attached flyer. This is well worth a visit, and should be a fitting tribute to a great artist literally on our doorstep.

This August, in collaboration with Northampton Fine Art, The Shoosmith Gallery presents 'David Hockney: A Lasting Image' - a vibrant exhibition celebrating the life and extraordinary legacy of one of Britain's most celebrated artists.
Discover a carefully curated selection of original works, rare publications and collectable pieces.
Entry to the exhibition is free, with works available for purchase.
Opening hours: Tuesday – Friday: 10am – 4pm
Saturday: 11am – 4pm.

The Shoosmith Gallery at Delapré Abbey

Born in Leicestershire and based in Northamptonshire, Cate K***s is a self-taught wildlife artist specialising in soft pastel and graphite. Her work encapsulates the balance of strength and vulnerability in the animal kingdom.
'Drawn from the Wild' brings together a selection of recent work, reflecting a close observation of the natural world and a deep appreciation for the diversity of animal life.
We'll also be holding 'meet the artist' days at the gallery on Saturday 18th July and Saturday 1st August. Cate will be demonstrating her techniques and offering visitors an opportunity to chat and learn more about her process.

Entry to the exhibition is free, with works available for purchase.

‘British Artists’ Exhibition Opens at The Shoosmith Gallery, Delapré Abbey
A curated selection of British artists will be on display at The Shoosmith Gallery at Delapré Abbey this spring, presented in collaboration with Northampton Fine Art.
The exhibition brings together works by leading figures including John Piper, Henry Moore, Grayson Perry and Ashraf Hanna, offering a rare opportunity to encounter work by such highly-regarded British artists in Northampton.
It will be shown alongside the gallery’s permanent collection of watercolours from Northampton’s Shoosmith family, including the celebrated Thurston Laidlaw Shoosmith (1865–1933).
‘British Artists’ runs from Tuesday 28th April to Saturday 23rd May at The Shoosmith Gallery, situated in the Stable Block at Delapré Abbey, London Road, Northampton.
Admission and parking are free.
Opening hours: Tuesday – Friday: 10am – 4pm
