Favours Holiday Club

We've had such an eggcellent start to the holidays. The children have been doing lots of chocolate baking activities ready for Easter, we have made Easter nests, chocolate bars, truffles and cake that all have been a highlight. The children also had a go at making their very own sock bunnies using a no-sew method, this went down a treat and all were very happy with their creations. To finish the week off we split the children into small groups to go on a scavenger egg hunt, the children had to work as a team to figure out the clues to find their basket full of treats somewhere within the room.

Today, continuing with our celebration of Chinese New Year the children took part in baking some fortune cookies with their own fortunes inside, they had all thought really hard and created lots of lovely messages to put inside them for each other.

Tomorrow is our pyjama day where we will be spending the morning making pizzas for our afternoon movie!

We're having the best time so far this holiday! It has already been such a busy week celebrating Valentines day, Pancake day and the start of Chinese New Year.

Please don't forget to bring your wellies as our garden is very wet and muddy at the moment which is great for jumping in and creating mud cakes!

What a way to end the half term! 🎃
This morning the children got to choose if they wanted their faces painted ready for our party this afternoon, we had lots of vampires, werewolves and butterflies!
In the afternoon we played loads of party games and won lots of prizes. They created some fantastic Mummies, had a go at pinning the tail on the cat and showed off their funky dance moves in musical statues before finishing on some lovely party food for snack.

It has been great to see everyone this holiday, especially all of the new children to holiday club. Hope to see you all next time!

Pizza and Spooky movie day!
The children loved making their own pizzas this morning and then they all decided on The Nightmare before Christmas as their spooky afternoon movie.

Don't forget it is our Halloween party tomorrow! Children are able to dress up if they want to. We will have lots of party games and face painting throughout the day!

Off to a brilliant start this week! Some of the children went out on a autumnal walk around Moulton college to collect leaves, pinecones and conkers to create a massive autumnal mosaic.
We have also kicked off the Halloween season by carving pumpkins and creating spooky clay decorations getting ready for or Halloween party on Friday!

Please remember to bring your wellies and wetsuits as this is the best time of year for mud cakes and puddles!

We have had the best summer in holiday club, making new friends and having lots of laughs! It was great to see all of the children working together as a team and seeing their faces light up as they worked out the puzzles to win prizes. We have made loads of yummy treats this summer and the children have thoroughly enjoyed creating lots of potions and trying new experiments.

Brixworth Country Park was a huge hit today! After a fun time in the play area, the children went on a big adventure, building dens in the woods and racing down the hills.

Continuing our theme of the week "the world around us" we had a special furry visitor called Luna who is training to become a guide dog and her trainer, Suzanne. The children learnt a lot about what it takes to become a guide dog, what training they get and how it implements into real life. The children got to try on some glasses that represent different sight impairments and spoke about what they could see out of them and what difficulties they may face in every day life. All of the children were so well behaved around Luna and got to give her a little stroke at the end.
