I sat with my young ladies to discuss about Khalilulah, the beloved friend of Allah.

*Here are 21 Virtues we learnt from Prophet Ibrahim عليه السلام*

In a world full of distractions, fears, pressure, and confusion, the story of Prophet Ibrāhīm عليه السلام gives us a new narrative: a life built on faith, courage, sincerity, and complete trust in Allah.

Allah described him as an Ummah on his own a man whose faith, character, and obedience carried the weight of a nation.

He is:

*Friend of Allah (Khalīlullāh)*

Ibrahim عليه السلام reached such sincerity and devotion that Allah honoured him with the title Khalīlullāh, *the close friend of Allah.*
A reminder that closeness to Allah is earned through love, sacrifice, sincerity, and obedience.

*Tawḥīd — Pure Belief in One God*

He stood firmly against idol worship even when society opposed him.
He teaches us to stand for truth even when it is unpopular.

*Courage*

He challenged falsehood openly and bravely broke the idols of his people.
Real courage is standing for Allah despite fear.

*Obedience to Allah*

When commanded to sacrifice his beloved son, he submitted completely.
Obedience is not only easy acts of worship, it is trusting Allah when things are difficult.

*Complete Trust in Allah (Tawakkul)*

Thrown into the fire, he still relied upon Allah alone.
His famous words remind us:

“Hasbunallāhu wa ni‘mal wakeel”
“Allah is sufficient for us, and He is the best disposer of affairs.”

*Patience*

Years of tests did not weaken his faith.
Delay does not mean denial when Allah is preparing something greater.

*Strong Faith*

His certainty in Allah was stronger than the pressure around him.
Faith grows when we know Allah deeply.

*Constant Duʿā’*

Ibrahim عليه السلام frequently made heartfelt duʿā’ for himself, his children, and future generations.
The believer never stops asking Allah.

*Gratitude*

Allah described him as grateful for His blessings. Gratitude protects blessings and increases them.

*Forgiveness*

Even with the pain caused by his father’s rejection, he still showed gentleness and concern. *Mercy is strength, not weakness.*

*Returning Back to Allah*

He constantly turned back to Allah in humility and repentance. No matter how far life takes us, the journey back to Allah is always open.

*Building for the Sake of Allah*

He raised the foundations of the Kaʿbah with his son Ismāʿīl عليه السلام.
A believer leaves behind projects that benefit generations.

*Family Leadership*

He nurtured righteous children and raised prophets. Parenting is not only provision, *it is spiritual cultivation.*

*Humility*

Despite his status, he remained humble before Allah. The closer someone is to Allah, the more humble they become.

*Kindness*

His speech was gentle, wise, and compassionate. *Strength and softness can exist together.*

*Care for Others*

His duʿā’s were never selfish; he prayed for nations and future believers.
A sincere heart wants goodness for others.

*Resilience*

He never gave up despite rejection, migration, loneliness, and trials.
*Believers continue moving forward even when the road is hard.*

*Sacrifice*

He gave up comfort, homeland, and personal desires for Allah.
Every sacrifice made for Allah is replaced with something better.

*Wisdom*

He spoke thoughtfully and used reason when calling people to truth.
Daʿwah is not shouting, it is wisdom with sincerity.

*Being a Ḥanīf (True Believer)*

He turned away completely from falsehood and devoted himself purely to Allah. *A believer stays focused even when society pulls in different directions.*

*Legacy and Impact*

Thousands of years later, millions still mention his name daily in prayer.
A life sincerely lived for Allah never dies.

The life of Prophet Ibrāhīm عليه السلام teaches us that greatness is not about fame, wealth, or status.
True greatness is:

* trusting Allah when tested,
* obeying Him when it is difficult,
* remaining grateful during hardship,
* and leaving behind a legacy of faith.

May Allah help us embody the character, sincerity, courage, and devotion of Prophet Ibrāhīm عليه السلام. Ameen Qur'an and Me

Believers' Hub 17/04/2026

Alhamdulillah for another amazing reflection in the Believer’s Hub today.

This week, reflecting on Ayat 23–24 from the story of Prophet Yusuf (ʿalayhi as-Salam), we explored one of the most powerful inner battles of the heart, the moment when temptation meets faith.

These Ayat remind us that tests do not always come through hardship. Sometimes they come through desire, attention, opportunity, or feelings of emotional pressure and indebtedness toward others.

We spoke about how diseases of the heart can begin quietly:
through unchecked attraction,
through wanting approval,
through feeling we “owe” someone our compliance, or through moments when the nafs feels stronger than clarity.

Yet Allah shows us the cure through Yusuf’s response:

“Maʿaadh Allah.” — It is Allah’s refuge that I seek.

One sentence.
One turning of the heart.
One act of awareness that changed everything.

This is the power of muraqabah, living with the certainty that Allah sees us.

And this is the protection of wiqayah; choosing distance from what harms the soul before it settles in the heart.

We also reflected on how sabr is not passive. It is active strength. It is choosing Allah in the moment of pressure, not only after the test has passed.

Perhaps the greatest lesson from this week is this:

Integrity begins before action.
Protection begins before the fall.
And hearts are strengthened when they learn to say:

Maʿaadh Allah.

May Allah protect our hearts in moments seen and unseen, and place within us the strength to choose Him first.

Post-Class Reflection | A Year with Surah Yusuf for Teens and Tweens

Alhamdulillah for today’s reflection on ayah 19-20 in
’an and Me Teens - Surat Yusuf⁩

We reflected on a powerful moment in the story of Yusuf (ʿalayhi as-Salam):

*He was sold for a very small price… yet his value with Allah never changed.*

Together, we explored an important question:

Who decides your worth?

One key idea we discussed was the *validation trap*, constantly seeking approval from others can slowly erase personal boundaries and make a person lose sight of their identity and true worth.

Some thoughtful reflections shared by the students included:

1) Allah never burdens a soul beyond its capacity, *hardships can be part of purification and preparation for what lies ahead*

2) Trusting Allah is needed in both hardship and ease

3) People often seek validation from peers because it feels relatable and comforting, even though it doesn’t truly satisfy

4) Relying on others’ approval can reflect a struggle to see our own value

5) *Giving up defeats success*

6) Giving up prevents growth, what matters most is Allah’s opinion, not people’s judgments

7) I am not what people label me. Sometimes people only see the surface but Allah sees the heart, the effort, and the future He is preparing for us.

Through this ayah, they recognised that being overlooked or misunderstood does not reduce a person’s worth. True value is not measured by popularity, confidence, appearance, or achievements, *it is built through sincerity, character, and connection with Allah.*

📌 A self-reflection question to continue the reflection at home:

What helps you remember your value when others don’t see it yet?

Thank you dear parents. It’s good to be back 💕💕

*Are parenting emotions feeling heavy sometimes?*

When our children feel upset, anxious, or overwhelmed…
it can leave us unsure whether to stay calm, correct them, or just hold space.

Often, it’s because many of us were never shown *how to understand our own emotions first.*

This summer term at Believer’s Hub, we’ll explore emotional resilience through the story of Surah Yusuf *learning from Ya‘qub’s patience, Yusuf’s strength, and the power of trusting Allah through life’s tests.*

Together we’ll work on:

🌸Managing emotions with confidence

🌸Responding to children with wisdom

🌸Strengthening our connection with Allah

🌸Finding calm through Qur’anic guidance
