A day that means so much to us — raising awareness, celebrating differences, and reminding us all of the beauty in every individual. It’s about creating a world filled with kindness, acceptance, and inclusion, where everyone is valued for exactly who they are.
Here at Totstop Day Nursery, we feel incredibly lucky and proud to have a lovely little boy with Down syndrome at the heart of our nursery family. He brings so much light into our days — filling our setting with laughter, joy, and the purest kind of love.
He teaches us more than we could ever teach him… about patience, compassion, and seeing the world in the most wonderful way. He truly is so special to us all, and is loved more than words can ever say 💙💛

Happy St Patrick’s Day

At outdoor learning today we had so much fun warming up our pancakes on the fire for Shrove Tuesday.

The Owl’s room children had a blast with Nat @buds.play! The children’s imaginations ran wild as they crafted a nest for Ruby Robin using sheep’s wool, moss, and more. “I’m adding flowers for Ruby’s home,” one child said, while another added, “This sign will show Ruby where her nest is.” The fun didn’t stop there – they mixed watercolors to match different types of bird’s flashcards and went bird spotting in the garden, counting as they went. We even made music with our instruments, singing along to Ruby’s bird song and comparing different bird calls. Bring on next week!

Tuesday Tots! 🐦🪺🌲 We continued working towards our @songbirdsurvival Ruby Robin Challenge this morning. This was our ‘Learning Challenge.’ We learnt about how birds use their song to say “hello” and “let’s play!” to their mates and “DANGER!” to warn others! We listened to a range of bird calls - they all sound different! We then made our own bird songs and sounds using a range of percussion instruments 🔔🐦🎶 Some of us went on a bird hunt and used our binoculars to get a closer look 👀 Some of us made nests to keep birds cosy, warm and feel loved ☺️ Lots of us used watercolours to paint the garden birds 🎨 and we LOVED tipping, scooping and pouring the birdseed using different containers again. BUT the best bit… A little sing song and a mug of hot chocolate in the snug 🤗☕️
