πŸ§Šβ˜€οΈ Keeping cool while learning through play! β˜€οΈπŸ§Š

Our toddlers had so much fun today taking part in a wonderful ice rescue activity, helping to free the animals trapped inside the ice! πŸ¦’πŸ˜πŸ₯πŸ’¦

Using warm water, brushes and their little hands, the children explored how the ice melted while staying lovely and cool in the warm weather β„οΈβ˜€οΈ

Ice play is such a fantastic sensory activity for young children, helping to support:
🧊 Physical development through pouring, brushing, squeezing and fine motor movements
🧊 Communication and language as the children talked about what they could see and feel
🧊 Problem solving and curiosity while working out how to free the animals
🧊 Understanding the world by exploring temperature, melting and changes in materials

Lots of learning, lots of concentration and lots of giggles too! πŸ’›

🐝🌼 World Bumble Bee Day at Harpole Day Nursery! 🌼🐝

On 20th May, we celebrated World Bumble Bee Day and spent the day learning all about these tiny but incredibly important little creatures! πŸπŸ’›

Bumble bees play such a vital role in our world, helping to pollinate plants, flowers, and crops, which supports the growth of so much of the food and beautiful nature around us 🌸🌿 Without our busy little bees, our environment would look very different!

To celebrate, our children enjoyed a whole day of bee-themed learning and fun 🐝✨ From creating bee crafts, investigating bee photographs, learning about where bees live and the environments they need to thrive, to even buzzing our way through some mathematical learning too! πŸ”’πŸ―

It was a wonderful opportunity to encourage curiosity about the natural world, develop important conversations around caring for our environment, and remind our little learners just how important even the tiniest creatures can be πŸ’›πŸŒ

Bee-lieve us… it was a very busy day! πŸπŸ˜„

βœ¨πŸ’› What a lovely morning to walk into at Harpole Day Nursery! πŸ’›βœ¨

One of the best parts of nursery life is walking through the rooms and seeing all the wonderful learning opportunities ready for our children πŸ₯°

Our Preschool children have been busy exploring fantastic sand and water play, alongside learning all about shapes and making healthy choices through discussions around healthy eating πŸ₯•

Our Toddler room have taken their fun outdoors with an amazing sensory walking trail, complete with different sensory textures for little feet to explore and even some mini splash pools to help keep cool in the warmer weather! β˜€οΈπŸ’¦πŸ‘£ What a fun way to support sensory exploration, confidence and physical development!

Meanwhile, our Babies are having lots of fun with their vehicle themed week, full of exciting opportunities to explore, play, and learn through their favourite things πŸš—πŸšœπŸšŒπŸ’¨

So much creativity, thought and wonderful learning happening across the nursery, we are so proud of our team for creating such engaging environments for our children every single day πŸ’›βœ¨

We love our visits to Harpole Day Nursery and seeing how Boogie Beat helps every child’s imagination come to life. It’s especially wonderful to watch quieter children grow in confidence, begin to interact more and express themselves so freely through music, movement, and storytelling.

Staff say, β€˜The children love to see Sharon and Giggles. They interact fantastically, even the quieter children love to join in. It is lovely to see the children so animated whilst taking part.’

Creating a space where every child feels comfortable to join in, use their imagination and shine in their own way is what makes Boogie Beat so special. Thank you for working in partnership with Boogie Beat.

πŸ“šπŸ’› β€œWill You Be My Friend?” πŸ’›πŸ“š

As we begin approaching the exciting transition to school for some of our preschool children, we have been spending time focusing on something so very important… friendship πŸ₯°βœ¨

Using our lovely new book β€œWill You Be My Friend?”, we have been talking about what makes a good friend, how we can make new friends and why it is so important to be kind, caring, and inclusive towards others πŸ’•

Starting school is such a big milestone, and helping children to build confidence in social situations, understand kindness and learn how to form positive friendships is such an important part of preparing them for this next exciting chapter πŸŒŸπŸŽ’

Because every child deserves to feel like they have a friend by their side πŸ’›βœ¨
